Would a breast lift work for me? (Photo)

Hi. So, I’m a 19 year old girl who’s lost 90lbs in the past 6-7 months. Unfortunately, as a result, I’ve lost all volume and lift in my breasts. I have extremely loose skin on them as well. Now I’m afraid to date or engage intimately with men my age because of it. I know that I’d have to get an anchor lift because of how saggy they are, but would a lift even be worth it?? I don’t want my breast to look even worse than before…

The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

Thanks for your question. From your pictures, you seem to be a good candidate for a breast lift or a breast lift with implants.  The breast lift would address your droop/sag issue and reduce the size of your areolas as well as place them at a higher position. In addition, you can add volume with implants. Hi there, thanks for your question. Yes, based on your photos you are an excellent candidate for a breast lift. You would need the anchor scar but you could achieve a nice cup size and shape by doing a lift without removing any of your breast tissue to leave them as big as possible.

The downside of weight loss can often be a decrease in breast volume. Considering your situation, an anchor breast lift, which allows for nipple repositioning and reshaping of the breast, would likely be beneficial.

Based on the photos, your breasts have a deflated appearance, or stated differently they have too much skin for the volume contained within. I breast lift would do several things. First, it would allow removal of your skin excess. Second, it would allow your nipple to be repositioned to a forward facing location. Third, it would allow an active internal reshaping of the breast tissue, to move it higher on her chest wall. You are correct that she would need an anchor type scar (also refered to as a wise pattern incision). I would definitely suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the surgery in more detail.

It's common to lose volume in the breasts after a massive weight loss. In your case I would recommend a lift, reduction and implants. Because of your age, I would suggest considering doing this after you're done having children in case you plan on breastfeeding.

I'm glad to see you're aware of the scarring of a breast lift. Every Plastic Surgeon will do everything possible to avoid extra scarring, but unfortunately every lift leaves a scar. I recommend looking at a lot of before and after pictures to get a better idea of how you'll look.

Yes, a lift can reshape your breasts and position your nipples in the ideal location. Your concern about skin quality is valid. Breast lifts always change over time. The more stretchy your breast skin, the faster they typically change. So planning for those changes is important. To me that means you will probably benefit from more than one breast shaping procedure over your lifetime. The first operation should be performed with this in mind to preserve as much blood and nerve supply to your nipples as possible.
