What to do with areola tissue on my anchor scar? (Photos)

Hello, I had a breast lift with anchor incisions and when it was done clear margins weren't made around my areola which has resulted in areola tissue running along both sides of my scar from nipple to crease. Nothing was ever mentioned to me about it and when I bought it up at my 3 month check up it apparently wasn't a big deal. Is this very common? And is it easily fixed? They have said to come back and it can be cut out. Would this typically be something I pay for them to fix?
