Am I a good candidate for BodyTite? (Photo)

Question

Hello, I’m 43 and weigh 132. Workout a ton and an a very healthy eater. I hate my lower pooch from my c sections. I know a tummy tuck would be the best option but I’m not comfortable going that route. I hate the scar and I’m at high risk of blood clots. Would body tite on upper and lower abs be a good alternative?

Thank you for your question! From the photos you posted, you look like an ideal candidate for Bodytite. Bodytite uses radio frequency to help tighten loose skin in conjunction with liposcution. While a tummy tuck is the gold standard, Bodytite is a minimally invasive procedure that will give you modest improvement.

Thank you for your question. Bodytite is a great alternative to a tummy tuck for patients that do not want the scars or downtime that traditional surgery entails. The combination of Bodytite and Morpheus would be a great option for you to see a significant decrease in your "lower pooch" area and tightening of the skin but make sure your physician goes over the expectation of results compared to a tummy tuck.

Our patients who fear invasive surgery, scarring, and long down time, typically opt for BodyTite to determine if the improvements are satisfactory enough to circumvent extensive excisional surgical procedures.

Thanks for your inquiry, but without examining you and seeing how wide your muscle separation is, it is hard to advise.  In general terms,  I do not think you would be pleased even with the skin results of Bodytite alone to the abdomen.  Blood clot risk can be managed by using blood thinners as indicated, please seek the opinion of a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss and best of luck.

I would not recommend body tite to address your problem.   The procedure to address your problem would be Tummy Tuck I understand you do not want to go the tummy tuck route because of blood clots but I perform Tummy Tucks on patients with this history and what we do is put patients on an anticoagulant for six weeks post surgery and do very good without a problem.

Hello and thank you for your question. You would need an in person consultation to see if you have a significant separation in the muscle and enough collagen in your skin to help predict if you would benefit from Bodytite to achieve your goal. Bodytite combined with circumferential micro canula liposculpture would give you the best chance at reducing your "pouch" and reducing the appearance of your c-section scar. The addition of micronedling with radiofrequency would give you additional skin tightening and potentially help remodel your scar as well. Make sure you consult with someone that can show you before and after photos of similar patients to help with your decision making. Good Luck.

An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is the gold standard treatment for removing excess skin of the abdomen. However, we often have patients who do not wish to undergo a tummy tuck due to the significant downtime required and the long scar. In this case, liposuction with BodyTite is the alternative treatment that I recommend. Liposuction will improve the appearance of the abdomen by removing excess fat. The use of BodyTite will help to tighten the loose skin. In addition, you may benefit from three treatments of Morpheus8 to your abdomen. The combination of BodyTite and Morpheus will give the best skin tightening effect without undergoing an invasive procedure. It is important to keep in mind that though we see significant improvements with BodyTite, it will not produce the same results as a tummy tuck. This procedure can be performed under IV sedation (twilight anesthesia) rather than general anesthesia, and compared to a tummy tuck is much less invasive, has significantly less downtime, and is more affordable. It is also important to note that having liposuction with BodyTite does not at all eliminate the possibility of having a tummy tuck in the future.

Thank you for your questions and photos. Body Tite is a technology that uses radiofrequency to shrink wrap the tissues. Based on your photos, I think you would be a great candidate. On average, the system will result in about a 40% improvement in skin tightening. In our office, we perform the procedure under local anesthesia. Because it relies on your own body to stimulate collagen, it can take a while to see final results. I recommend you schedule a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon who has experience with the Body Tite machine. BodyTite can tighten skin up to 40%.  Adding Morpheus8 treatments can help optimize the results.  It will not produce the same results as a tummy tuck and it cannot correct muscle wall separation, but it can offer significant improvement.  It is best to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to discuss your goals so that the right recommendations can be made.
