What is the recovery for bodytite without lipo?

What’s the recovery like if I get bodytite with no lipo? I just want to tighten some loose skin. How long will it be bruised/irritated and how long is it necessary to wear compression garments?

Hi there,Good Question! The great thing about BodyTite is that it is minimally invasive and requires little to no downtime. We ask that patients wear their compression garments for 48hrs. During that 48hr period, we ask that you refrain from any strenuous activity or heavy lifting. After 48hrs you can remove the garments and resume normal activities. Any swelling and bruising should be resolved after 1 week but most patients have no bruising at all.

Although everybody heals differently the expected recovery from Bodytite alone should only be a few days. Most of our patients are able to return to work and daily activites after 2-3 days. Prior to surgery we recommend stopping all blood thin medications such as ibuprofen, fish oils, vitamin e etc and avoiding alcohol for at least two weeks. If you tend to bruise easily you can ask you physician to start you on an arnica/bromelain regimen. As far as compression garments they are a key aspect in your recovery and results we recommend using them for 4-8 weeks depending on your surgery and the discretion of your surgeon.

BodyTite does not remove any fat, but it is capable of producing a 45% contraction in tissues.  Results can be seen immediately after one treatment and are more evident over three to six months post-treatment. Wait until six months to fully evaluate the aesthetic results. Bruising and swelling can occur post-op.  Sedentary activities can be resumed in two to three days and full activity with exercise within two to three weeks.Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in using BodyTite for a proper evaluation.

bodytite alone is a weekend downtime and 1-3 weeks of compression.
You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.  Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring.  Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods.  The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring.  This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face.  Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra.  If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty).  Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting.  Dr. Emer.

recovery after Bodytite should be easy. The amount of bruising is mostly individual, but you can try Arnica in order to reduce it. Also, I suggest you discuss the use of compression garments with your plastic surgeon.

Bodytite as a stand alone treatment is rather rare in our clinic. The areas that are susceptible to Bodytite   (a technology driven by radio frequency) especially when used in conjunction with liposuction are the chin/ neck region, the inner thighs and the lower abdomen.
Recovery is rather quick and depends on the age, gender and anatomical region treated. Compression garments are not an exact science. Duration and extent will be prescribed by the treating clinician.

Thank you for your questions. Every person heals a little bit differently but in general the recovery is fairly short. the Body Tite system doesn't cause excessive bruising but can cause swelling. Although people typically are back to their daily activities within a couple of days, swelling can persist for weeks depending on what area was done. In our office, we recommend elevating the area for 48 hours and wearing compression garments for 2 weeks. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon who has experience with the Body Tite system. Having BodyTite without liposuction will have a recovery of only a few days.  Bruising varies by patient.  Be sure to avoid aspirin, Vitamin E, fish oil, and NSAIDs prior to the procedure.  The use of compression garments varies by surgeon,, but you will typically wear it for 4-6 weeks.

BodyTite will tighten and tone fattening, wrinkly and loose skin that doesn’t go away with diet and exercise alone. Using fat coagulation and volumetric heating technology, BodyTite works in multiple ways to treat the affected areas. It is a minimally invasive device that patients are typically very satisfied with. Recovery is usually 1-2 days but can be up to 10 days depending on the person. Patience is a must though, as it takes about 6 months to one year to see results. Prices range from $3,000 to $5,000 depending on how many areas you want done. Ask your surgeon how long she/he would want you to wear compression garments. We usually tell our patients 1-2 weeks to prevent complications. You will have a shorter recovery period with BodyTite and no lipo, however, patients usually see the best results with lipo in addition to bodytite. Do whatever is best for you financially and mentally!
