Red lines between eyes (11's) after Botox then Juvederm.

Question

Yesterday I had Botox then Juvaderm injected between my eyes for DEEP wrinkles. Today, I have two distinct red lines at the injection site-exactly where the wrinkles were. Is this normal?

Hi!  with out seeing your picture it is hard to say for sure, what is normal... with that said, bruising and swelling is common after injections and can last up to 10 days. I would recommended following up with your doctor.

It's difficult to answer without pictures. There can be some redness after injections which can resolve in a few days. If it persists, I recommend following up with your Doctor. Keep in mind, it can take 1-2 weeks for final results. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for sharing your question.  Unfortunately without photographs it is difficult to offer definite advice but wrinkles that have been set-in for some time  can have a thinness to the tissues that can look like two red lines after injections of dermal filler, especially if the filler was placed close to the skin surface.  Because the risk of blocking an artery is possible I would follow up with your injector just to make sure all is well.  Best wishes.

unusual, especially if the filler was injected superficially in the skin. It is
quite possible to have a blocked artery. I recommend you follow up with your

Botox and Juvederm will take up to two weeks to settle and be in full effect.  If you are worried that this is not normal swelling or an untoward response contact your injector for an evaluation.

It is hard to say without photos and if you are concerned then you need to follow up with your treating physician. However filler may have been injected very superficially with multiple injection point along those creases which may be causing that red line.  However, a photo would be helpful in determining if that is the case.

Swelling and redness is expected after having fillers and Botox. It will take a few days to subside. A photo would be much better. It is an area that has a higher incidence of vascular occlusion, but this doesn't sound like that. That would present differently - pale or purple, well beyond the area of injection.

It is difficult to assess what is going on since you did not post pictures.  I am going to assume that you had the filler injected into this area as well.  It is not unsual to have some erythema (redness) after such an injection because the area is very vascular and the injections are very superficial  Having said that, this is a very difficult area to inject due to a lot of important vessels in the area.  I would suggest that you contact your injector immediately for an evaluation to make sure that there is no infection or compromise of the blood supply.  Hope this helps.
