Lips not natural feeling and sore 8 days after Juvederm. Sore hard lump under lip, normal or not?

I had my lips done 8 days ago with juvaderm and they still dont feel super natural and pillowy and underneath my lip I can feel a hard lump that is sore is that normal? I will like to add she used Botox needles saying it would help achieve a more lifted effect. I didn't attach a pic because my lips look normal there's no obvious appearance of lumps and I feel it on the inner part of my lip. Also would like to add this is my first time getting injections.

Hi there, thanks for the question.  It is not uncommon for people to feel lumps in their lips after fillers are placed.  The lumps can be product that you are feeling or it could be local tissue swelling.  Please be patient for another week or so.  If at that time you still feel lumps, please see the person who did your injections for further advice.  Good luck!Sincerely,Dr. Michelle Spring

You most likely still have swelling, which can last 1-2 weeks after your injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question. At 8 days post treatment it is difficult to determine what your final results will be. It is not uncommon to have some lumps and swelling after lip augmentation. It can take up 2 weeks for all swelling and lumps to resolve. You can gently massage the lumps to help smooth them out and apply ice to your lips to help resolve swelling. If you are unhappy with your final results, you can dissolve the filler with an enzyme known as hyaluronidase. Best of Luck!

If you ever have any concerns it is best to follow up with your injecting physician so they can see it in person.  Lumps can occur after filler and may be worsen by swelling in the first 2 weeks.  As the filler absorb water lips will feel softer and more natural.  If there is still lumps after 2 weeks they can be dissolved.

Thank you for sharing your concerns, and congratulations on getting your first filler treatment!  It's not uncommon to feel firm lumps or nodules of Juvederm in your lips right after treatment.  With time, the Juvederm should absorb water and soften, so you don't feel it in your lips as much.  This process can take up to two weeks.  If you're still feeling the lumps after two weeks, I would recommend that you follow-up with your injector to discuss your concerns.  They may be able to gently massage your filler to blend it into your lips.  If that does not work, the nodule can be dissolved with a medication called hyaluronidase.  Best of luck!
