I am planning to undergo alarplasty. Can anyone tell me any options so that won't feel any pain?

Dear Jade7771,This is a very reasonable question.  In the circumstances I place topical anesthetic along the gums within the mouth and perform nerve blocks through these numb mucosal regions.  This will allow for complete numbing of the lower nose and a relatively painless procedure.  As noted additional caution, and for better hemostasis (bleeding control) I also injected local anesthetic in the region in which surgery will be performed. In addition to topical numbing cream, using a field block with an injection under the gums and also some premedication with pain meds orally will typically make this procedure painless. It does take about 25-30 minutes, however, so it is reasonable to speak to your surgeon about doing surgery in the OR under light anesthesia if you prefer to be more comfortable.

Hi jade7771,Topical anesthesia cream may reduce the discomfort caused by the needle injection. Slow injection will also help reduce the pain from the injection, then after the anesthesia takes effect, the procedure should be pain free. If it really concerns you however, twilight anesthesia is an option.
