Had undergone an arm tumescent liposuction about a week ago. Soreness, numbness, tingling sensation are still there. When is the best time to undergo a tummy liposuction when I'm still feeling sore at the arm? Should I wait until the arm is completely healed before undergoing another surgery? Please advice.
Answer: Liposuction timing Obviously it would have been ideal to have all of the areas treated at the same time. If you are going to wait, it should be a month or more after the first surgery.

Answer: Second surgery Many patients can have a second liposuction procedure as soon as two weeks. However, do the procedure when it seems best for you.

Answer: Time frame between liposuction I would wait 6 weeks between procedures for safe keeping. Ideally, you could have all your liposuction performed at the same time.

Answer: Duration of time between liposuction procedures; especially "Tumescent Liposuction" Awesome question! There are two factors that determine duration of time between liposuction procedures. First,is the amount of blood loss with your procedure. If you were to fave 4-5 body areas done, typically I would tell you to wait 6 weeks and recheck blood levels (Hemoglobin levels), before going onto another procedure. In your case, the arm represents one area, with minimal blood loss. In this case all you need to recover from is the tumescent anesthesia. The recovery from the medications used in tumescent liposuction takes about 48 hours and most of your own body's laboratory numbers will be normal after 48 hours. In a typically case as yours I would tell you to wait 48 hours!

Answer: Tumescent Liposuction of Different Areas Normally, I recommend a 7-10 day interval between different liposuction treatments (of different areas). The rationale behind that interval is to give plenty of time for the lidocaine in your system from the first surgery to be broken down by your body.Given that you are still having some symptoms from your arm surgery, you may want to consider waiting a little longer before doing another procedure. I don't think it is unsafe to move forward with your next surgery, but I think if you can wait a few more days/weeks, it may be prudent.Good luck!
