Why do I not see any difference after my liposuction?

True you are early after surgery and it will take 6 months to see the final results.  However, depending on what the areas looked like before surgery, 2200 cc is not a large volume liposuction, especially for 4 areas.  I would expect the suction volume to be double or triple that for this many areas.

Without knowing your exact measurements or seeing photos, it is hard to judge much about your results at 2 weeks. Even without much tenderness or bruising, there may be some swelling so patience is the best advice.

It will take 6 months for the swelling to subside after liposuction.  After this point in time you can evaluate your result, looking at before and after pictures and measurements.  Be patient.

There are what I describe as the three main phases of seeing results (Actually, there can be a fourth phase as well):Phase 1:  The first 14-21 days -- This is when swelling is maximal and you may not see much of a change from your pre-liposuction appearance.  This is the phase you are in.Phase 2:  Approximately 8 weeks out -- At this point in your recovery you see a hint of your results when you get out of bed in the morning, but will continue to swell up throughout the day.Phase 3:  Approximately 16 weeks out -- At this point you are for all practical purposes seeing your final resultPhase 4:  There is some very subtle waxing and waining swelling that can take up to one year to disappear.  Most patients don't really notice this phase much!

Even though you do not feel swollen you likely are swollen and your body is retaining fluid in the areas that were liposuctioned.  Some people actually gain weight after liposuction due to swelling and fluid retention.  It can take up to six months for your skin to contract fully but most swelling should be gone in 2-3 months.  

Even though you may not see or feel it, you are still swollen and in the early stages of healing. Give your body time to heal. You should be close to your true size at 6 months.
