Today is the 5th day after i had an arm tumescent liposuction. I cannot get a good sleep with these sensation on both arms.
Answer: Compression It takes months for the sensations on the skin to resolve completely. I find that compression garments are critical in making the patients feel better. On the arms, the best option is bicycling sleeves which can be found at sporting goods stores.

Answer: Pain after liposuction At 5 days after liposuction, you will still be sore, but this will quickly go away. Try taking OTC Advil, 2 twice/day to help with pain control and inflammation.

Answer: Pain & Numbness After Liposuction Great question! The pain of liposuction tends to be the worst between days 3-5 and then starts to get better, though all of us experience pain a little differently. The pain is often replaced by what is called "Touch Sensitivity" which is a by product of the numbness. touch sensitivity kicks in between weeks 2-3 and lasts until about week 8 out from your procedure. The numbness takes about 16 weeks to go completely away, though it gets better every week starting at about week 3-4. I hope this helps!

Answer: Is there any way to reduce the soreness and numbness. How long will this persist? Please help. Thank you for your question. It is normal to experience discomfort for the first 1-2 weeks after surgery. Compression garments can be very helpful along with and anti-inflammatory such as Advil, provided you tolerate it well. Also, cold packs and massage (I recommend frozen peas) can be very helpful. I hope this helps and best of luck!Dr. K.

Answer: Is there any way to reduce the soreness and numbness. How long will this persist? Please help. There is not really anything specifically that can reduce the numbness or soreness besides compression to the area and the medication Neurontin. This discomfort usually subsides with in time, in most cases within the first few weeks.
