Chubby cheeks sagging and dropping with a short chin, what procedure would improve my face? (Photo)

Hi Strawberrychoc,You have nice youthful contours of your cheeks.  Enjoy them while you have them!If there is one thing I would suggest, it is to consider an extended anatomical chin implant.  This will bring the chin forward, but also has edges that extend along the jawline to fill in the area called the pre-jowl.  This will bring your jawline into alignment with your cheeks, giving your face an overall balanced appearance.Of course, my advice is only based on 2 photos.  You would need an in-person evaluation to see what procedures are actually appropriate for your face.Best wishes,Dr. Jay

Hello and thanks for your question, I often treat chubby cheeks with buccal fat removal. This is a quick procedure that removes the fat from the cheek areas resulting in a more narrowed lower face. Concentrate on preventing sun damage by protecting your skin with sunscreen, hats and clothing. Have your dermatologist recommend a medical-grade skin care regimen with retinol and hyaluronic acid. Get regular chemical peels. If you do start to see some jowling, a mini lift, with or without a neck lift would give improvement. I hope this helps.

Hello, and thank you for your question. Based on your photos and your age, it doesn’t seem like a facelift would be the right procedure for you at this point. I would recommend talking to a qualified plastic surgeon about injectable treatment options like dermal fillers, BOTOX® and/or Kybella™. These treatments can help you achieve the better-defined jawline you’re looking for, as well as get rid of a double chin. It looks like you have good skin elasticity and should see better results from these treatments over a facelift. Hope this helps.

Facial harmony is the result of balance between the parts of the face.  You hit the nail on the head with your assessment.  A genioplasty or chin implant would give you better proportion, and some botox to your jaw muscles would help round out your lower face.  Discuss your options in-person with a surgeon (or a few) and go over some simulated surgical results to get an idea of what may give you the best result.

It is hard to assess based on only the two limited views provided and I am unsure if the lateral provided view is provided such that the face is parallel.  Based on the limited info, I think a simple chin implant would go a long way to adding balance to your face.

     Thanks for the foto. Unfortunately it doesnt give all of the information I need. It looks as though you may benefit from some facial contouring either with fillers or implants. You are young and have good skin so it wont be too difficult to give you the contours you need. Seek a consult with a qualified facial plastic surgeon. Good Luck

You are too young to need a facelift. A chin implant using a solid silicone implant or injections of filler (I use Restylane for this area) can be good options for a smaller chin.

 Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years.  From the photos, your cheeks have a flat section in the front, there is significant excess fat in front of and below the chin while the chin itself is quite weak.  These combine to create a wide, rectangularly-shaped face.  
 Following my beauty principles, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces.  Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front.  Cheek augmentation with precise anterior placement of a dermal filler will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face.  Placing the filler to the outsides of the cheeks will broaden and further masculinize the face....and should be avoided.
 There are many faces that have excess fat over the cheek area which hides the "true" shape of the cheeks below.  In addition to obstructing the cheek shape, this excess fat will sag prematurely as it is pulled by gravity at an accelerated rate versus a face without excess fat in the mid face.  Removal of the excess fat, with liposuction, is key when properly shaping the cheeks with cheek implants.  I have used this in combination with cheek implant surgery for 30 years.  In my experience these procedures when combined in a face with excess fat in the mid face are extremely safe, effective and reliable in the aesthetic results they produce.
 I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years.  From the photos, your chin is weak.  A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. 
 I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty.  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.  In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.
 The back portion of your jaw line is a bit weak and can be augmented, without making your face appear masculine, using precise placement of a dermal filler (I prefer using Restylane Lyft).    "Jowls”, in the lower face, represent sagging facial tissues and the main indication for some form of a SMAS facelift.  The underlying SMAS layer, of the face, must be dissected, lifted, trimmed and re-sutured (not merely folded or suspended with threads or sutures that will not last.  Sadly, suspension suture type procedures seem to once again be gaining marketing space especially outside of the US.  These have been around for over 15 years and summarily dismissed as ineffective by experienced facelift surgeons as more hype than anything else.)  The excess skin is then removed and the facelift incisions closed.  Since your face does not appear to have jowls, you would not be considered a suitable candidate for any type of facelift procedure and the following information is included for educational purposes of what a proper SMAS facelift is designed to accomplish.
 My most popular SMAS facelift is the minimally invasive, short incision SMAS facelift that has all the benefits of more invasive facelifts (traditional, mid-face, deep plane, cheek lift and subperiosteal facelifts) but with these added benefits:
very small incisions and no incisions extend or are placed within the hair.

cheeks, chin and jaw line can be augmented with dermal fillers (I prefer Restylane Lyft) or facial implants
most patients fly back home to parts all over the world in as little as 3 days post-op
I combine facial shaping with every facelift procedure.  When jowls are present, these should be done in concert and not alone or separately in order to create a naturally, more attractive face.

Hi strawberrychoc,Based from your photos, it doesn't seem like you have chubby cheeks, and the drooping you are describing is mostly accentuated by the depression along your jowl which can be improved by an anatomical chin implant. If the dropping of the face really bothers you, you may consider a nonsurgical option like ultherapy. This will also improve your nasolabial fold and marionette lines.
