I was feeling insecure with my aging face and neck and began my search for a facial plastics Dr, with a timeline of a year or two in mind. I scheduled a consultation with Dr Athre and was so impressed with him that I scheduled my face and neck lift for 6 weeks out. I never dreamed I would’ve done it under local anesthesia, but I’m so glad that I did. I was nervous the morning of, but after taking the medications at his office prior to surgery, I was relaxed and ready. It was a relatively enjoyable experience and I am blown away with my natural and beautiful results. He is a skilled and experienced facial surgeon. I’m so very happy that I found Dr Athre and was able to turn back the clock and restore my youthful appearance and confidence with so much less planning and recovery than I expected to have.
I decided to finally get a facelift and Dr. Athre was the most amazing happening to me. I was looking to go to San Diego to visit Dr. Amir Karam for my procedure, however I am extremely happy I chose Dr. Athre. He performed upper/lower bleph, lip lift, and deep plane facelift I can not express how beautiful his line of expertise turned out, I Love It !! I get complements from everyone I know on the results. Thank You Dr. Athre & Staff.
So far I have been in the office twice; however, the communication was impeccable from day one; emails, text, phone calls... Dr. Athre and Barbara made me feel at home and in great hands from the beginning. My husband accompanied me to the second appointment and he was vert pleased with the doctor's overview of the preparation and expectations. I will continue posting as my journey continues. Updated on 28 Mar 2023: Today is my 10th day after surgery and I want to tell everyone who is hesitant to have a rejuvenation, please hear me out. Although I did not have general anesthesia, I felt nothing. Dr. Athre's work is flawless, I could not be happier, even knowing that this is only the beginning and I will continue seeing improvements; I cannot wait to show the world how wonderful I look now. PLEASE do your research, but DO visit this doctor, because you do not want to trust anyone that is not the best, especially with your face and neck. I am adding some images, so that you can see for yourselves. This was a life changing day and it's only the beginning of this wonderful journey.
Dr. Athre and his entire team were extremely professional and helpful throughout my procedure process. I live in Honolulu and came to Texas to see Dr. Athre because I could have the surgery done without using general anesthesia. The local anesthesia process was new to me and exactly what I needed. Dr. Athre educated me about all of my options. He was honest and forthright about alternatives that I was thinking about. His vision for my end results was clear n his mind and aligned exactly with what I wanted. Barbara was amazing at getting me scheduled on a very tight time table. I was back in Honolulu looking better than ever in two weeks. When I came home my friends and family thought I looked amazing. Those who knew were so happy for me and those who did not know I had procedures done just thought I looked healthy and everyone commented on how happy I looked. I had a deep plane, facelift, eyelid, surgery, and a neck lift. All was done under local anesthesia. Dee took very good care of me and Dr. Athre was delightful through out the surgery. He was so excited for me as he was doing the surgery and all of his excitement translated into a beautiful work of art. Thank you Dr. Athre and your entire team! Warm aloha, Donna
Dr. Athre was wonderful. Very attentive, great bedside manner, always answered all my many questions. One of the reasons I chose him was because I wanted a deep plane facelift without general anesthesia. I ended up getting upper and lower blepharoplasty also and I'm so glad I did. After taking the necessary pills (pain pills and Valium I think), the surgery went off without a hitch, I was even able to get up and use the restroom and have a little bit of soup around lunch time. The whole thing took about 7 hours, and yes I was awake for much of it, chatting away with the doctor. Dee, the doctor's wonderful surgical assistant, never left my side, even though I told her she should take a break. The next day, Dr Athre personally came to my house to check on me, empty my drains, etc. I loved this because it was so much better than having to go to his office, even though I could have if necessary, as I was able to be up and about, eat and drink, etc. I did rest most of the time however. I only needed pain pills the first day home. After that, the worst thing was having to very firmly run my thumbs from my throat up to behind my ears to drain all the fluid buildup. I had to do this for at least a week or two. When I wasn't doing that I had to wear the stretchy head bandage for compression. It took about two weeks before I could go out in public, with makeup covering my bruises. I LOVED the results, as did my friends and family. Very natural looking, I looked at least 15 years younger. After a few months my salivary glands dropped down and made bumps. My friends did not notice, but because it was bothering me, Dr. Athre did a redo surgery, only charging me for the room and services, but not for his time. It did help somewhat. Because my friends and family still don't notice, I'm letting it be. Otherwise, I'm very much enjoying wearing short necklaces again with no jowls! I also started wearing beautiful eye makeup again. Thank you, Dr. Athre and staff! P.S. Because they are a med spa I got a free facial on my birthday!
I spent two years researching and contemplating having plastic surgery. I chose Dr. Athre because of his background in trama facial surgery and the fact that he specializes in the face. I had a face, neck, lip and eyebrow lift and couldn't be more pleased with my results. My scars are minimal and healing perfectly. Dr. Athre makes you feel comfortable, never rushes our appts, always listens to my concerns and offers his expert opinion. His office staff is extremely friendly and always makes you feel comfortable. I absolutely made the correct decision to have Dr. Athre do my surgery.
Dr. Athre did a wonderful job! I chose to have my procedures (face-lift, neck-lift, brow lift, fat transfer to lips) done in office (I avoid anesthesia whenever possible). I was there more than 8 hours...LOTS of shots to numb the areas, yet the experience was awesome. We laughed, we had music, considering where I was and what I was having done it was not a bad experience, partly due to his talent, partly due to his bedside manor.
Words can’t express how happy and excited I’m feeling . I am extremely happy , pleased and satisfied with my facelift results . I had a wonderful experience with Dr. athre , and his medical staff. Dr athre explained to me every step of my facelift procedure. Dr Athre answered all my questions with confidence. Dr. Athre has a light soft hand , I didn’t experience any pain in Dr Athre hands. My Incisions are not noticeable, I was able to heal very fast, I was able to go back to work within a few days after my facelift surgery. My after surgery pain was very minimal, am my healing process was very successful. Dr Athre changed my life completely and now I feel extremely beautiful, and extremely motivated.I highly recommend Dr Arthre !!
I had been contemplating a lower face/neck lift for a few years and decided this was the year to do it. Dr. Athre was the 3rd doctor I interviewed. Almost immediately, I knew he was the one I wanted to perform my lower face/neck lift. I wanted to avoid going under general anesthesia (due to a few reasons...recovery and costs). Dr. Athre and Barbara didn’t sugarcoat anything...told me what to expect before, during, and after. I booked the procedure with some apprehension. A week prior to the surgery, I had to deal with my elderly mother. I almost rescheduled but told myself to keep the appointment and follow through with it, which I did. On March 18, 2021, my husband and I arrived at Dr. Athre’s office. I took the sedation medication (which took effect quickly), and surgery began. He numbed me up and started with my neck. That went quickly. Then, it was on to the right side of my lower face. That took the longest. I got a quick break. Dee (love her!) took me to the bathroom and gave me a drink of water, then we were on to the left side of my lower face. Believe it or not, I dozed a little bit during the last part...how? I don’t know with all the pulling, tugging, cutting. Anyway, it was finally over, and my husband took me home. That first night was the hardest because I was bandaged up. Barbara came to my house the next morning and took the bandages off, removed the small drains, and gave me instructions going forward. And, then the swelling/bruising kicked in. I looked pretty rough for the next 4-5 days. I had to sleep elevated and the stitches were uncomfortable as the days progressed. I went back in on day 5 to get my chin stitches out. At that appointment, Dr.Athre assessed everything (all good) and I got a deep tissue neck massage (which was intense) to work my neck muscles. I went yesterday (Mar. 31) to get the rest of the stitches and staples removed. Dr. Athre said I’m healing as expected. Today, it’s been exactly 2 weeks since my surgery. I’m pleased so far. It’s getting better and better each day. RS is only letting me post a few pics. Will post more as I can and as time goes by. Updated on 4 Apr 2021: This pic was taken on April 3 2021. (I’m on the left.) I used to hate having pics taken of me. This one isn’t too bad and I can really see the improvement. Still some swelling and numbness, but overall happy with what I’m seeing. Updated on 20 Oct 2021: It’s been 7 months and I need a neck revision. Scheduled for Nov. 11. Went for a post consult a few weeks ago. Dr. Athre told me to gain weight and everything would be OK. I think (hope) he was kidding. Trusting he’ll will make it right. So, I’ll reserve judgement until then.
From consultation to post Op, Dr. Athre and the entire process has been great, including my results. I was incredibly nervous but Dr. Athre made me feel comfortable and I felt like he genuinely had my best interests in mind. He thoroughly explained what to expect, answered all my questions, and reassured me that I had nothing to fear. I’m super pleased with the results as they are exactly what he promised they would be. Barbara was also extremely helpful and spent lots of time answering questions and helping me through the whole process. Can’t say enough great things about Dr. Athre and his team.
I am sorry, but please provide more information. Information needed: 1. More pics (before and after) 2. What was done in surgery 3. What was the goal of surgery 4. Pics with arrows, etc of the problem....
Most of the time swelling after a rhinoplasty refers to swelling over the tip, supra tip (area right above the tip) and over the middle vault of the nose. In thin skinned individuals, the swelling overlying the bony dorsum dissipates pretty rapidly. I am assuming pic 1 is before, and pic2 is the after. The amount of swelling directly over Bony bridge (dorsal aspect of the nasal bones) seems pretty minimal. Via pics I cannot ascertain the amount of swelling vs the scar vs, the outward spaly of the nasal bones at the nasomaxillary junction. There is no substitute for a physical exam in this case
Six months is the beginning of the time period to assess final results. Results may take longer in thick sjinned or revision patients. Wait for abt 3 additional months, then d/w your surgeon your concerns.
You look like you may have a small polybeak deformity. It can be fixed. It involves a revision with removal of a small amount of scar tissue or inadequately resected cartilage.
Based on the pics that are presented, your dorsal/tip aesthetic lines look pretty symmetric. This may be something that someone has to touch to appreciate. If there is a slight palpable abnormality with NO visual abnormality, I would recommend doing nothing.
