Hi,. The two are totally unrelated. If antibiotics nare prescribed a yeast infection may occur. Dryness is more a function of hormones. Good luck Dr PG
HI,Thanks for the question. There is no evidence that tummy tucks have any effect at all on vaginal dryness. You should not worry in this regard. All my best,Daniel A.Medalie, MD
Unless your abdomenoplasty is so tight that it unnaturally raises your genitalia, you should not experience dryness. The devil is in the details. If the procedure involves reshaping the vulva, there could be problems, but in most situations, that remodeling of your genitalia should not cause dryness. Speak to an experiences board certified plastic surgeon and discuss your options.
No, that is not true. Tummy tucks do not cause vaginal dryness. Having an improved contour of your abdomen would not do anything to the moisture, or lack thereof, in your vagina. If the mons is lifted that area may look better, but that would not cause vaginal dryness either. If a patient with vaginal dryness had a recent tummy tuck, she might wonder if the two are related, but they are not. That timing would be coincidental.
Dear Cakelady502,tummy tuck should not cause vaginal dryness. If you have any issues or question, I suggest you to consult your gynecologist. A tummy tuck deals only with loose abdominal skin, subcutaneous fat, and tightening the abdominal muscle wall. The vagina nor other organs are manipulated. Medications taken after surgery can have various side effects as can diet but the surgery itself would not impact the vagina.
That's a new one for me, and I do a lot of tummy tucks. Not sure who is spreading this "rumor" around, but I would ask them for more details (and their credentials).Best,Dr. Dan KrochmalMAE Plastic SurgeryChicago, IL
Abdominoplasty really should not cause vaginal dryness. I often have requests from patients to elevate the mons pubis during abdominoplasty when that area has fallen due to time/gravity/pregnancy. In doing that maneuver some mild additional labial exposure could happen (maybe toward more juvenile state). This is probably more theoretic than real & can really be only very mild if at all. Permanent vaginal dryness is therefore extremely unlikely as a result of abdominoplasty. Hope this helps put your fears to rest. Best of luck!
After 45 years of practicing plastic surgery, you would think that you have heard all of the questions, but that is a new one. No, vaginal dryness should not be caused by an abdominoplasty.Vaginal dryness is caused by hormonal changes in the vast majority of times. Have your doctor (someone who specializes in hormone replacement therapy) get lab work to get your estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels to assess your hormone status if you are having problems.Thank you for your questions, and good luck
Hi thank you for your question. I have never received a report from a patient of this happening.I trust this reassures you.Best wishes.
