Can you have tummy tuck and liposuction if you have a antibodies in your blood but no diagnosis of any autoimmune disease?

I will like to have a tummy tuck done, but on some of the sites, doctors say they do not do procedures on patients with lupus, I don’t have lupus, just unknown antibodies in my blood with no reason behind it.

Thank you for your question. If you are on no medications for theses antibodies and your doctor clears you for the procedure, you can proceed with surgery.

Mzshi. I appreciate your concern, however it is best to seek consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon and discuss in detail your exact medical history. It is highly likely that your condition will not be a contraindication to Tummytuck surgery. Medical clearance will most certainly be needed however. Good luck.

It would be helpful to know you are being treated with any medications and your current health status. Provided the "autoimmune disorder" is under control, there may not be a contraindication to a TT.   You would need to be cleared by your rheumatologist or other specialist who is treating you.

If you see a rheumatologist, speak with them about your interest in a tummy tuck.  If given surgical clearance you can schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.  Your surgeon may order lab work to ensure you are a candidate for the procedure.  If you have not been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder and have no symptoms chances are your antibodies would not exclude you from being a candidate.

You may still be able to have a tummy tuck. However, it is important to review the medication(s) you are on to determine if it can affect your surgery (i.e wound healing). and if stopping can make any of your current symptoms worse. It would also be helpful for your plastic surgeon to communicate any concerns with your rheumatologist and get clearance.
