What are my options for minimizing the appearance of double chin and dent when smiling? (photos)

Question

Within the last 2 years, I started to notice a double chin when I smiled or moved my head down even slightly. This seemed to coincide shortly after I had filler injected into my chin so I had 2-3 dissolving sessions to remove but the problem still appears to persist. I already tried Botox to my mentalis twice with minimal, if any, result. Buccal fat was removed as well. Is it filler, fat, skin laxity or a muscle issue? What can be done to fix my chin “dent” when I smile?

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

From the photographs presented,  you have a recessive chin and fat deposits in the neck. Consider placement of a small chin implant and liposuction to remove the fat deposits above your platysma muscle. If the fat deposits are located below the platysma muscle, you'll need a neck lift procedure with a platysma -plasty to significantly improve the jawline.

One of the things you can do to minimize the appearance of the double chin and help remove the dent, would be to do a deep plane neck lift with Reunion and a small chin implant. This would be about 1.5 hours of surgery and require 5 days downtime with minimal to no pain.
