What can reduce the size of my prominent chin? (Photo)

Question

I have a prominent, protruding chin. My chin makes me face very long when I lose weight. I wish to reduce the size to be more proportionate with the rest of my face. I know I also have a larger nose but that does not bother me as my chin does. Thank you!

Chin reduction can help with a large protruding chin 'Witch's chin'. This is usually an abundance of soft tissue which causes a bulge. The procedure involves making an incision below the chin, accessing the extra soft tissue and removing it while taking care to preserve the muscles. Along with this some skin is removed below the chin to have a pulling effect on the chin and leading to a smaller or less protruding chin.

Chin reduction is possible. My best guess is the procedure may be more commonly performed by oral surgeons, then by plastic surgeons, but potentially providers from both specialties, may have experience doing the procedure. I suggest scheduling multiple in person, consultations with both plastic surgeons and oral surgeons to see if they have experience with the procedure. Ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patient who had the procedure to get an idea of what results will look like and how many of these procedures they’ve actually performed.
