Im 6 months post op from a breast augmentation and a lift on one side, to correct asymmetry (left breast was a D cup and right breast was a B cup.) I’m super happy w the results but for some reason, my right implant has not shifted correctly into place. Before, I was told I had a constricted right breast and that it would take longer to settle, but now my surgeon is considering doing a revision. I’m doing massages and the usual thing, but I just wanted to know if a revision is necessary.
Answer: Considering a Breast Revision Post-Augmentation Thank you for your question regarding whether to pursue a breast revision or allow your breasts to settle six months after augmentation with a lift naturally. In my professional opinion, I would advise waiting at least another six months. There's no need to rush into additional surgery at this point. Ultimately, the decision to undergo a revision should be based on your own comfort and satisfaction, not external pressures. The current state of your breasts might be attributed to capsular contracture or possible skin elasticity changes. Regardless, it would be wise to allow more time for the final results to emerge before making further decisions. Thank you for your question about whether to opt for a revision or allow your breasts to settle post-augmentation. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Asymmetry Yes, I believe that you will need a revision. It is hard to fully appreciate what is going on from the original surgery without before photos and more details about the surgery. Regardless, these are all my own opinions based on the photos provided. I would recommend seeing a plastic surgeon who has great training and experience in aesthetic breast surgery.

Answer: revision or should I let this settle on its own? After six months it is not likely that you will have substantial further settling. If your surgeon is considering a revision you should listen carefully and discuss your option. Having performed the original procedures and having the advantage of physically examining you, he or she would be in the best position to make a recommendation.

Answer: Breast Revision Thank you for your question. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to breast revision surgery. Unfortunately, your surgery was poorly performed. I deal with a breast asymmetry commonly. The most important aspect when dealing with significant breast asymmetry is to remove breast tissue from the larger breast so that you can use the same size implant making the breast appear similar both in size and shape. Several years ago, I published a paper that allows me to do this on a consistent basis termed Reductive Augmentation. Over time, your issues will just become worse and he will need a revision. Best wishes to you.

Answer: BA results Dear Genius289093, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
