I've had liposuction done in the (male) pubic area done 5 years ago and recently had bodytite done (without liposuction) in the same area for skin tightening. The doctor did not recommend any compression garment to be worn after the procedure. I'm curious to know if any other doctors concur with this decision.
Answer: Bodytite Compression Thank you for your question. We always recommend using a compression garment after any bodytite procedure to help with the healing process. The compression if worn correctly also helps to enhance your final results. I would speak to surgeon and voice your concerns

Answer: BodyTite It is unusual for a doctor not to recommend compression garments after BodyTite or any similar procedure in the pubic area. Compression garments play a crucial role in the post-operative care and recovery process for several reasons: Reduce Swelling: Compression garments help minimize swelling by applying gentle pressure to the treated area. This can improve comfort and promote healing. Support Healing: They provide support to the tissues and help maintain the new contour achieved through the procedure. Enhance Results: Compression garments can contribute to optimal results by assisting in skin retraction and maintaining the intended shape of the treated area. Patient Comfort: Wearing compression garments can also reduce discomfort and promote a smoother recovery experience. It's important to note that recommendations for wearing compression garments can vary based on individual cases and the specific instructions provided by your surgeon. Factors such as the extent of the procedure, the patient's medical history, and the surgeon's preference may influence whether compression garments are recommended and for how long they should be worn. If your doctor has advised against wearing compression garments in the pubic area after BodyTite, they likely have specific reasons based on your unique circumstances. It's essential to follow their instructions closely and communicate any concerns you may have. If you're uncertain about their recommendation, don't hesitate to seek clarification or a second opinion from another qualified medical professional.

Answer: Compression Compression is helpful after these procedures, but if the compression cannot be done evenly it may cause more harm than good. I encourage you to speak with your surgeon about his/her reasons for not using compression. It is important that you are comfortable and confident in your recovery.

Answer: Most times a compression garment is best with Bodytite but pubic areas are hard to compress properly. I recommend always getting compression after bodytite with or without lipo but the pubic area is very difficult to compress adequately so just expect it to take a little longer for the swelling to go down and don't worry. The end results is usually great either way.

Answer: No compression recommended after BodyTite in the pubic area by a doctor, is this normal? The compression garment places pressure on areas of liposuction to control fluid and swelling. Because only BodyTite was performed, you will likely have some bruising and swelling that usually resolves in a few weeks. No compression garment was required. I always recommend that you follow your board certified plastic surgeon's postoperative protocols.
