I'm getting an areola reduction in a couple of weeks and my doctor really wants to use a permanent stitch underneath. My concern is, will it worsen or make any part of my scars MORE noticeable? I understand I will have some scarring regardless. He has assured me that he will put the stitch deep enough that I shouldn't feel it, but that if it does come to surface he can easily remove it without additional scarring, after I've healed. Is that usually correct?
