Dear Alexmscotty,I would recommend that you wait until the canker sore has fully healed before getting any injections into the lips. Best regards,Nima Shemirani
I suggest you wait till the cold sore or canker sore is gone before doing any lip fillers. Best, Dr. Emer.
Alex,Its best to wait until the cold sore is resolved. You may get an uneven result if the injector doesn't compensate for the swelling.
Thank you for your question. I would wait till the sore is completely healed before getting any lip injections. It is best to get a in person consultation with a board-certified dermatologist.
Thank you for your excellent question. It is difficult to comment on your particular situation without an examination. In general, I would suggest waiting until the area is fully healed. Please be sure to see an expert injector for an in-person consultation in order to determine the best treatment plan. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Depends on if this canker sore is really just an abrasion from your retainer or not. If you are prone to true canker sores (not caused from catching or rubbing of a device, rather a virus), the trauma from JUVEDERM injections could make canker sores worse or cause more to pop up because it can activate the virus. Regardless, if you are going through with the JUVEDERM injections, I would pretreat with some Valtrex beforehand.
Hi alexmscotty I am happy that your canker sore is almost gone. As you know these sores can be caused and irritated by trauma to the skin or mucous membrane in the mouth. Since a needle injection is considered trauma, there is a sores might get worse. My suggestion is the it's better to wait until your are completely healed before ANY type of injections around your lips. Hope this helps. Cheers
Lip injections can be performed with a facial filler to improve symmetry, volume, and accentuate lip landmarks. I would advise any patient with canker sores, cuts, or infection to wait until the lips are fully healed for a safe and happy result. Safety comes first.
I'd suggest waiting until the sore is fully healed (assuming it's on your lip) and the swelling is resolved before having lip filler injection. Discuss with your doctor's office to get his/her opinion. Thank you for your question. It can take up to 2 weeks for all swelling and bumps to resolve after lip injections. You can gently massage the bumps to help smooth them out. If after 2 weeks if the bumps are still present or you are unhappy with results you can have the filler dissolved with...
Thanks for your question and I would strongly advise you not to have both of them on the same day, if possible. Waxing can cause swelling and inflammation to the area – and so will the filler – and that means you will have more than the normally expected swelling if both are done close toge...
Thank you for your question. It is too early to determine what your final results will be. It is common to have some swelling and lumps after lip injections and should resolve in 1-2 weeks. You can gently massage the lumps to help smooth them out. If after 2 weeks you are unhappy with your...
