Eyelid surgery is often considered for problems affecting both the upper or lower eyelids. In the upper eyelids, excessive upper eyelid skin can either give patients a sad look, or can hang down and impair vision. In the lower eyelids, bags under the eyes can give patients a tired appearance. Excess eyelid skin is removed during the procedure, and the underlying tissue can be repositioned to improve the overall appearance. This procedure can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids, or both.
