I do have a little bruise on the top of my mouth. My lips just feel hard. Is this normal? How do I know if it's swelling or actual lip size.
Answer: Hard little spot? Hi Kristen.It is normal to have some hard spots with dermal filler injections. I believe you will be better in a week or two. I always suggest returning to see your injector about 2 to 3 weeks after the initial injection. Some swelling and/or lumps can be typical after lip injections and will resolve in 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer
