0.5cc Juvederm- will I see results? (photos)

Based on my experience of performing lip augmentation for over 18 years and doing at least 10 per day I could tell you that conservative 1/2 cc may work for you.   You have to realize it is the injector that needs to know how to inject and where to inject.  The supply and material is important but the injector needs to be a truly experienced artist and board certified cosmetic surgeon.  I could see that price is a factor.  Since we tremendous experience and perform large volume and it has become a routine practice and easy to do procedure our prices are dramatically lower than what you have stated.  Thanks for great question.  

This is a great question, thanks for asking. I would say that you'll probably be happier with the full syringe of JUVÉDERM® rather than just a half. However, your best bet is to go ahead and schedule a consultation and discuss your specific goals with your cosmetic surgeon or skilled injector. He or she should be able to help you choose the right amount of filler for your needs. Good luck!

Most Doctor's will start with one syringe for good results with lip augmentation using fillers. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical and full lip. PDO Nova threads can also be used to improve shape and also provide lift. Fat or implants are a permanent alternative. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Good question. In my experience 1 mL is not too much.  Especially if it is used to fill both upper and lower lips. It will be for the first 48hrs. Your lips will be swollen so be ready for that. You will likely even have a bit of that duck look until the swelling subsides.In the same sense, I think it is always best to be conservative. I would find a surgeon who is experienced with lips and really detail what you want.   Be clear about the shape and the size you want between the upper and lower lips. There are different lip aesthetics and you should make sure you and your surgeon are on the same page.Hope this helps.Best of luck,DrC

Thanks for your pictures. Which type of Juvederm filler do you plan on getting? You can start with 0.5cc, but you will most like want more. Remember, it should not be about the cost of the filler but the skill of the injector. An experienced injector can make a little filler go a long way and give you an optimal result. Best wishes.

To increase volume 1cc of Juvederm would be ideal based on your photos. At your first lip filler appointment you can request to see photos to reassure you that 1cc of Juvederm is a conservative amount.

Less is more. It is always easier to add more filler down the road than take it away. I think that .5 is a good place to start for a natural looking lip augmentation. 

That is a really conservative amount so sounds like a good place for you to start. You may want to think about Volbella which is one of the newer Juvederm fillers specifically for the lips. Best of luck.

My preferred fillers for the lips are Volbella, Restylane Silk, Restylane Refyne and Juvederm Ultra. I recommend that patients start with 1 mL of filler and then add more as needed at followup appointments. I believe that 0.5 cc of filler will not be enough to give you the result I think you are looking for.
