Lip fillers done with Juvederm yesterday for first time by my meticulous plastic surgeon... well I'm in love with the fullness but bruised terribly!! I did ice yesterday doing arnica by mouth too.. Wondering how long this last for others?? It looks like I got in a bar fight

Answer: Dermal Fillers and Bruising Thank you for your question. Bruising after filler injections is entirely dependent upon the individual. Pre injection use of aspirin, Motrin, turmeric, ginkgo, or marijuana can predispose one to bleeding and bruising. Most bruises will resolve in one week, but severe bruises may take up to two weeks. Arnica and vitamin K creams may aid in the resolution.

The lips are a very delicate characteristic and because your photos show bruising just one day after your procedure, I would not be concerned. Cold packs can help to reduce swelling and bruising in the lips. If your bruising does not subside after two weeks, I would contact your plastic surgeon for a follow-up visit. Best of luck!
