I am 44 and hate the lines around my mouth. Would Volma in my cheeks correct these? What is my best option?
Answer: Voluma Hello,Thank you for your question and picture. Voluma placed in the lateral cheeks will help improve the lines around your mouth, however you may need to consider some other treatments as well. Fraxel and CO2 can help tighten the skin, and improve texture. A combination of treatments like these should give you a great result. As always it's best to consult with a local physician for the best course of action. Good luck!

Answer: Voluma does not treat laugh lines directly but may make them less visible What does that mean? The nasolabial folds from the nose to the corner of the mouth are often exaggerated by flat cheeks. By augmenting the cheeks with Voluma, a significant number of patient see indirect improvement in their nasolabial folds. For more superficial folds or lines we also use juvederm in the lines/folds and the newer Restyane Define and/or Refine.

Answer: Improving Laugh Lines - Lasers like Fraxel/Clear + Brilliant, RF like VIVA, Peels, Fillers, Sculptra A combination approach would get the most improvement. I recommend a combination approach with fillers for the lines themselves and to provide anatomical support with Sculptra for collagen building. Lasers and microneedling/prp can improve texture and tone. Ultherapy and rf treatments can help with skin tightening. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Voluma helps lift the cheeks From the one picture, it appears that more than one filler would be required. Voluma certainly will do a nice job lifting and shaping your cheeks. The will have a positive effect on your laugh lines but it certainly will not completely smooth them out. You will also need a more superficial filler such as Juvederm Ultra or Volbella to place directly into the lines and surrounding skin. You may also benefit from a series of radiofrequency procedures such as Sublative or laser such as Fractioned CO2 to help stimulate collagen and resurface the skin. An in-person consultation with an experienced injector with a comprehensive approach is what I would recommend.Good Luc
