Hello,Thank you for your question and picture. Voluma placed in the lateral cheeks will help improve the lines around your mouth, however you may need to consider some other treatments as well. Fraxel and CO2 can help tighten the skin, and improve texture. A combination of treatments like these should give you a great result. As always it's best to consult with a local physician for the best course of action. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. Voluma can create a more youthful appearance be correcting laugh lines, smile lines, depressed scars and more. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,
What does that mean? The nasolabial folds from the nose to the corner of the mouth are often exaggerated by flat cheeks. By augmenting the cheeks with Voluma, a significant number of patient see indirect improvement in their nasolabial folds. For more superficial folds or lines we also use juvederm in the lines/folds and the newer Restyane Define and/or Refine.
A combination approach would get the most improvement. I recommend a combination approach with fillers for the lines themselves and to provide anatomical support with Sculptra for collagen building. Lasers and microneedling/prp can improve texture and tone. Ultherapy and rf treatments can help with skin tightening. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
From the one picture, it appears that more than one filler would be required. Voluma certainly will do a nice job lifting and shaping your cheeks. The will have a positive effect on your laugh lines but it certainly will not completely smooth them out. You will also need a more superficial filler such as Juvederm Ultra or Volbella to place directly into the lines and surrounding skin. You may also benefit from a series of radiofrequency procedures such as Sublative or laser such as Fractioned CO2 to help stimulate collagen and resurface the skin. An in-person consultation with an experienced injector with a comprehensive approach is what I would recommend.Good Luc
Voluma is a deep filler often used to restore volume to the midface and upper cheeks to improve the soft tissue contour in these areas and restore a more youthful look. The main effect occurs where the product is placed. In young patients with tight, good-quality skin, a subtle secondary effacing of the nasolabial folds can occur. Older patients with sagging or poor quality skin will require many more syringes of Voluma to see a significant effect in the treatment area and would require an excessive amount to see any secondary tightening. It would be unexpected to see any significant lift at the corner of the mouth / smile lines for any patient - the treatment area is simply too far away from these areas to have a significant effect. In short, Voluma into the cheeks is unlikely to achieve the results you are expecting, however, you may benefit from Juvederm Ultra or fat grafting into the area.A detailed examination will help delineate the best option. Consultation with a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery would be the next best step.
Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Voluma placement can improve the smile lines on many patients, helping to smooth the contour from the cheek to the upper lip region. Further correction to the nasolabial folds can be done with a filler like Juvederm once you are happy with your cheek appearance. The creases to the sides of the nasolabial folds are better treated with a thinner, more flexible filler such as Volbella. Hope this helps.
Yes, Voluma, when properly placed by a skilled injector, can definitely help to improve the appearance of laugh lines. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question jencarrion. Voluma is a filler used to enhance the appearance of the face. It is designed to be placed in the upper cheeks. In this way it pulls up on the lower face and improves the nasolabial folds. For secondary peri-oral wrinkles, Volbella and now Vollure can be used. Additionally fractional CO2 laser resurfacing can stimulate collagen formation and tighten the skin in the area. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
Yes, Voluma can help with laugh lines. My best advice would be for you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to be assessed in person and discuss.
Unfortunately without photos it is really impossible to say but it is very surprising to hear that you had two syringes and after a month it's already unnoticeable. My first question would be if you went to a reputable doctor and are certain you were injected with Voluma? If that is that case,...
From your description, it sounds as if a nerve might have gotten irritated. This can happen. It will resolve with time. If it does not, schedule an appointment to see your surgeon. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question audrey99. I understand your concern. Voluma is a filler used to enhance the appearance of the face. Redness and swelling are common after a Voluma treatment. I tell my patients that if they have severe pain at rest to call the office immediately so I can examine the...
