You have less definition of the neck angle than you're likely wishing.  There are good surgical and non-surgical treatments for this, and you need to find out your options by having a proper examination with a qualified plastic surgeon.   Be sure to discuss with your own surgeon about how this applies to you, and whether they have any special concerns in your case.

Thank you for the question. Others have suggested that this is fat excess. If so, Kybella or liposuction would be great options. However, since you say that this has always been your neck shape, please consider that this may be  related to the anatomy of your neck structures. In some patients, the voice box is very anterior -- this leads to a more obtuse neck angle and limits the efficacy of treatments like facelift, neck lift, liposuction, etc. You need to have an in-person examination with a board certified specialist to determine candidacy for procedures. Most of your issue is related to fat excess. Therefore, surgical or non-surgical fat reduction will provide you with a significant benefit. By far the best outcome with most longevity will be accomplished with surgical neck sculpting.

It is difficult to accurately assess your neck from limited photos.  Typically, lack of neckline definition is caused by excess fatty tissue in the neck and/or loose neck skin or muscles.  Lack of definition in this area is a common complaint of patients young and old.  Depending on the cause, there are many procedures to address your issues.  Neck liposuction is an excellent procedure to target excess fatty tissue which does not go away with diet and excercise. Skin or muscle laxity can be addressed with a limited necklift in your age population.  Necklift can be combined with liposuction if both skin laxity and excess fat are present.  I suggest consultation with a board certified surgeon specializing in facial cosmetic surgery.  Good Luck!

Liposuction, neck lift or Thermitight can all give improvement in the angle of the neck.  The amount of improvement depends on how much soft tissue is available underneath the neck.  If there is excess skin then neck lift is the best option.  If there is excess fat that can be felt between the finger and thumb when you touch the neck then liposuction is the best option followed by Thermitight.  If all you feel is only skin and soft tissue then Thermitight alone would be a good option.RegardsDr. J

The appearance of your neck is due to a collection of fatty tissue and, frequently, muscle bands.  A combination of suctioning of the fat and, if indicated, open muscle contouring.

  Fatty deposit removal in the neck can give a better jawline,  and it is important to have  an in-person examination and consultation to determine the extent of fatty deposits above AND below the platysma muscle.  Liposuction can remove the fatty deposits above the muscle, however surgery is required to remove the fatty deposits below the muscle. There is more to neck contour than skin and fat.
