Rhinoplasty surgeries are generally outpatient procedures, meaning that you won’t have to stay in the hospital at all. Most patients go home an hour or so after their procedure. I require that all of my patients have someone to care for them during the first 24 hours after their rhinoplasty. If a patient doesn’t have a family member or friend who can care for them, they are required to stay in an aftercare facility for the first night to ensure that they get the appropriate care. I see all of my rhinoplasty patients one day and one week after surgery for post-op appointments. Every surgeon will have their own post-surgery protocol for their patients, but generally speaking rhinoplasty surgeries do not require a stay in the hospital.
Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure and does not require you to stay in ahospital. After a couple of hours in recovery you will be released to go home to the care of acompanion for the first 48 hours at least.
If you're healthy, there should be no hospital stay following rhinoplasty. This is a day surgery procedure and most patients are resting at home within 1-2 hours following the completion of surgery. If you have medical issues such as obstructive sleep apnea you might require an overnight stay for observation. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Most rhinoplasty surgeries are done on an out-patient basis. This means that you will likely go home within 23 hours of your surgery, as long as there are no complications.Best of luck to you!
Most patients are discharged within an hour or so after rhinoplasty. Hospitalization is not required.
A rhinoplasty procedure is performed routinely as an outpatient procedure, whereby patients go home after the procedure is performed. In our practice, all rhinoplasty procedures are performed in our Medicare certified outpatient surgery center, and sent home with their caretaker within a couple of hours of completion of the surgery
Rhinoplasty is out patient operation. No hospital stay is needed after this surgery. Most surgeons use their accredited operating rooms for this surgery.
Thanks for your question. My patients routinely go home the day of their surgery. Once you're awake after the surgery, you will need to drink some fluids and maybe eat a little something. Any last minute questions will be answered then you can go on your way. You're usually leaving the hospital by an hour or two after the time your surgery ends. Even my most complicated revision patients (those needing rib cartilage, for instance) get to go home and spend the night in their own beds.
For most patients certainly if they have surgery in the afternoon, that they stay overnight in hospital. So you come in at lunchtime, have your surgery in the afternoon and go home the following morning after I reviewed you. I think this is great, for one thing you’ve got expert nurses looking after you for that whole period and you don’t have to worry whether something is normal abnormal, are you bleeding a little bit too much, do you have to be concerned about it and I think the peace of mind you get from that level of care is really great. Before you can go home your nasal dressing is checked and that your nose is clean and the best healthy state possible, to maximise healing and that means two things: 1 it means expert nurses caring for your nose and cleaning the wound in the nostrils the following morning but it also means they will teach you how to do that for yourself and I’m really keen that you do know the proper care and know how to administer that care to yourself, before you get home so in that vast majority of cases I advocate the positive side of staying in hospital overnight it.
Rhinoplasty, on a healthy person, is often done as an outpatient in an accredited office based facility, Ambulatory Surgery Center or hospital's day-surgery unit.
Hi Bob, Have you had anything done to your nose before? If you had a rhinoplasty that involved osteotomies (breaking the bones) sometimes the mucosa gets caught between the bones and can grow and cause a similar appearance . If you have not then you should see a plastic surgeon to examine your nose.
A crooked tip could be related to the caudal septum. Best to be seen in person to figure this out and see it can be improved. Best of luck.
It is much too early to evaluate your results. Cheek swelling alone could impact mobility with facial animation. Discuss this with your surgeon.
