My nose has a bump on both sides. (Right side is bigger) Not sure why it's like this. Can Rhinoplasty fix it? (photos)

I'm really not sure if it's nasal deformity or something else. I've tried looking up the bone for it, but nothing really shows up. The right side has a significantly bigger bump, while the left side is kind of there. I can't find a condition on it nor does it seem to be part of the nasal bone but the surrounding bones?

Hi Bob, Have you had anything done to your nose before? If you had a rhinoplasty that involved osteotomies (breaking the bones) sometimes the mucosa gets caught between the bones and can grow and cause a similar appearance . If you have not then you should see a plastic surgeon to examine your nose.

The dorsal hump is composed of both bone and cartilage, and it is frequently higher on one side or the other due to congenital reasons, or trauma. The rhinoplasty procedure accomplishes shaving down the bone and cartilage to decrease the hump. Osteotomies the nasal bones are then required to close the open roof deformity created from the hump removal. For many examples, please see  the link below

The bumps you're referring to appear to be at the nasal-maxillary junction, where the nose and cheek come together.  I appears as though you had prior surgery in this location.  I would recommend seeing a Facial Plastic Surgeon for a thorough evaluation.Dr. Michael Sullivan
