I am trying to decide between doing liposuction or a tummy tuck. I workout regularly and do not see results in my stomach. I want to cut down on as much unwanted fat as possible and I am wondering which procedure i should look into to reach my goals. Thanks!
Answer: Tummy tuck Hi soccergirl9822, Glad to hear about the regular workouts--as healthy, fit patients do better after elective surgery! I'd suggest getting to your goal weight first, and then making a visit to see a plastic surgeon. With the excess skin shown in the photos, your most likely procedure would be tummy tuck (which allows removal of both excess skin and fat, and can also tighten the abdominal wall) as opposed to liposuction (which allows removal of fat, but relies on the natural elasticity of the skin to contract and shrink the skin). Answer: Multiple factors While diet and exercise are great ways to lose weight (extra and intrabdominally), sometimes patients need more invasive measures. In your case, if you have been pregnant before and are finished with pregnancies, you can stage this by undergoing a full circumferential liposuction and then a tummy tuck about 6 months later. If you have never been pregnant or are not done with pregnancies, a full circumferential liposuction with VASER and Renuvion would help (in the future, if you develop loose skin after more pregnancies you can undergo a tummy tuck).

Answer: Tummy Tuck or Liposuction? Thank you for your question! Based off the images and description provided, you would be a good candidate for a combined procedure of 360 Liposuction and Tummy Tuck. This will help take down the unwanted fullness, remove any excess skin, and tighten the abdominal wall to get your desired results of a contoured waistline. Depending on each patient's current skin quality and capability of retraction, Liposuction alone can potentially lead to additional excess skin after the fullness is removed. An in-person evaluation with a qualified board certified plastic surgeon would be best to get a full and accurate treatment plan to help you reach your goals.

Answer: Tummy Tuck Candidate Hi there, thank you for your question and photos. Based on your photos it can be said that a tummy tuck is an operation that can address your problems because it seems that you have both extra fat and excess skin. Liposuction alone wouldn’t help the excess skin to disappear. With a tummy tuck both extra fat and excess skin would be removed as a result, you get the desired flat belly. I’d advise you to have a consultation done by a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Liposuction VS Abdominoplasty Thank you for your question. Based on the photos you have provided above, I would suggest an abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck. While liposuction would remove unwanted fat from the abdomen, you would still have excess skin remaining. An abdominoplasty would remove the tissue as well as the excess skin creating a flatter, more aesthetically pleasing abdomen that would better reach your goals.
