Hello! This is my first RS question :) My provider gave me the option to get my lips filled (Juvederm) while I am under GA for my breast augmentation. Will this affect my outcome in any way? I personally wouldn’t think it would, but I would just like to make sure. Thank you, Happy Holidays!!

Answer: Lip filler and breast Aug Lip filler is done painlessly awake so I prefer patients see the results and assess their liking while awake so that feedback to their liking can be made to how they want their lips to be. Therefore more patient control to what they want while awake versus under anesthesia.

Answer: Lip filler during general anesthesia There is no health problem performing lip fillers during general anesthesia, or during a breast augmentation. One does not affect the other. I do believe, however, that you might have better results if you're awake, able to move your mouth and lips, and upright when the injection is performed. If you're unconscious and laying down, and maybe with a tube of some type in your mouth, it can be more difficult to judge just how much filler should be in each portion of the lip. It doesn't hurt much at all, so I'd recommend that you do the filler during one of your pre-op or post-op appointments.
