Why did only one side of my lip swell drastically after lip fillers? (photos)

Hello. I have been getting lip fillers done for the past year with juvederm ultra plus. I go about every 4 or 5 weeks. This time when I left they looked good like they always good and several hours later I went to bed. The next morning I woke up with swelling more on the left side. As the day went in the pain and swelling kept getting worse. I was given sterioids and a little hyaluronidase to be on the safe side. Why do you think this happened ? Is it okay to try fillers again ?

Yes, you can have lip fillers again. Sometimes swelling can be asymmetrical after lip injections. I hope this helps.

Thanks so much for reaching out. Lips are very sensitive area in prone to severe swelling. Often times this can happen in a very uneven way. I think it is totally fine for you to try fillers again.I hope this helps :-)

Uneven swelling in the lips after lip augmentation usually occurs when the person is sleeping on one side predominantly. This can also occur when a hematoma or bruise is developing in the area of the treatment. I think if your lips look normal immediately at the end of the treatment and symmetric, you have nothing to worry about and I would not use hyaluronidase to treat the situation.
