I am 4 weeks post mastopexy and augumentation. My incision has split at the t-junction. How long will it take to heal? (Photo)

The T juncture is the most common spot for this kind of issue since the skin there is under the most pressure. Continue to follow your surgeon's wound care advise to the letter and all should be fine. It just take time since the wound needs to heal from the inside out. My best,

Thank you for your question.It could take some time to heal. Keep following your surgeons instructions and contact him/her with any changes or concerns. It is to soon to talk about scar revision. It takes up to a year for scars to soften and lighten. Best of luck.

Thanks for your inquiry and sorry for your struggles.  Simply put, your plastic surgeon is the only one who is examining your wound.  The concern should be t omake sure the implant does not become exposed or infected. Let your surgeon decide the treatment for the wound, ultimately he/she is the one that can monitor its progress.  Good Luck.

I think with careful wound care this should heal but it is important to watch the area closely. if the implant becomes exposed a big problem as you must remove it. Small areas od breakdown are common and heal well but your doctor should be seeing you every week to make sure. Good luck!

The problem that you have of T junction breakdown is common. Fortunately it is not serious, but does require close attention to wound care, and usually takes 2-4 weeks to completely heal with cleaning, twice daily dressing changes and an antibiotic ointment.   I let people engage in normal activity.  Implant exposure at 4 weeks would be unlikely, but must be kept in mind, and it is important that you get close followup with your surgeon.

 Thank you for your picture. Unfortunately, this can occur. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to heal completely. It sounds like your plastic surgeon is making all the right moves to make sure that you have a complete recovery. Best wishes. 

Thank you for your question and photograph and I am sorry to hear of your wound-healing issues.  Assuming the wound does not worsen (it normally gets a bit worse before it starts to get better) this should heal in a few weeks to a month.  Continue your current wound care instructions from your surgeon and maintain close follow-up with them for any other acute changes.  Best wishes.

Thank you for the question.  This is not an uncommon occurrence for patients.  As long as you continue to follow your plastic surgeon's post op care and you don't have any discomfort or complications, you should be fine.  It takes about 8-12 weeks for the wounds to fully heal so give it time as well.  Best of luck, Dr. Michael Omidi.
