Will 400cc UHP be too big on my small upper body? (photos)

Based on your desired outcome photos, you seem to like the "done" look so frankly, I think you could go with either. There is not a huge amount of difference between the 375 and the 400cc (about 2 tablespoons). As long as your surgeon feels that both will work with your anatomy, it's really up to you.My best,

The size of implant best for you is dictated by your
chest wall measurements. Once we determine that we can choose the profile
based on what you want or need to achieve.  If you are seeking a natural look,
then the diameter of the implant should be equal to or, more ideally, smaller
than the width of your breast. The breast width is a measurement of how wide
your breast is at the base, which should be measured at the level of the
nipple. Choosing an implant that is smaller in diameter than your breast width
will avoid the "side breast" fullness that is often associated with a
more artificial appearance. Other than that, you should choose the
implant based on volume, not on the dimensions of the implant. You should
choose a board certified plastic surgeon that you trust to help guide you in
this decision.

Silicone will give you a fullness at the
top (upper pole fullness).

Silicone implants come pre-filled with a
silicone gel and are the softest implant available. They feel more natural,
which makes them a good option for women with less natural breast tissue; but
they require a larger incision. It may be more difficult to realize if this
type of implant has ruptured, so it is important to monitor them with annual
follow-up visits. Additionally, because this implant contains a more liquid
silicone (less cross-linked), if this implant should rupture, it will leak only
into the scar capsule formed around the implant but may cause some discomfort
or implant distortion.

Anatomic gummy bear implants might be a
good choice to give you volume.

These highly-sought-after, anatomic
implants offer a look that more closely resembles the natural silhouette of a
breast, and, therefore, are a very attractive option for individuals seeking a
natural-looking, aesthetic primary breast augmentation. Additionally, these
implants are an especially excellent option for patients undergoing restorative
or corrective breast surgery because they provide more stability, shape, and
reduced incidence of capsular contracture. Compared to other types of silicone
gel implants, the silicone in the cohesive gel implant is more cross-linked;
therefore, should the implant shell “rupture,” it maintains its shape and
silicone does not leak.

During your breast augmentation
consultation, you should feel the different types of implants available, and
try on various implant sizers in front of a mirror to help you to get an idea
of how you will look following the surgery. You should also bring pictures of
the look you would like to achieve, as well as a favorite top to wear when
trying on implant sizers.

The exact choice of size that will work best for you is an important decision that you should make with your board certified plastic surgeon. 3D Vectra imaging and simulation, the Mentor gel sizing system, rice filled implants at home in your bra, and bio-dimensional analysis are all methods that can be employed to help you come to a decision. Hard to determine without an in person exam. Having said that, there really isn't too much difference between 375cc hp and 400cc uhp implants. Remember to choose a board certified plastic surgeon who actually takes the time to measure you and examine your breast pocket. The goal of breast augmentation is to optimally fill your breast pocket, not to overstuff or understuff it. At my practice, we utilize a series of 5 breast measurements that help me determine the implant size, which in turn helps me deliver a 24 hour recovery. Do your research and choose a surgeon who takes the time to sit down with you and discuss your goals/expectations and the best implant size for you. Good luck!

Thank you for your question and photos. Having a narrow frame or "breast width" requires using a narrower (higher profile) implant to prevent lateral breast fullness. Without knowing your measurements, I do think that a 375cc HP implant will very likely get you the result you desire. As a rule of thumb the higher profile implants can tend to look more "fake" and larger implants are associated with more potential for adverse outcomes. Best of luck, Dr. Kludt

Hi and thanks for the question. Without seeing you in person for a consultation all anyone on this forum can offer is generic advice. In my opinion very few first time breast augmentation patients look good with ultra high profile implants. Definitely not a natural look. Unless a patient has had children or had significant weight loss most don't have enough skin stretch to fit nicely over this style of implant. In my opinion most young, petite, first time breast augmentation patients look much better with moderate plus style implants. I think the best thing you can do is to have a consult with a practice like ours that uses the Vectra 3D imaging system. We use this to show patients what they would look like with any size and style impmant they want to see. This gives patients the confidence they need before deciding to do the procedure. Congratulations on your decision to have breast augmentation. There is not much difference in volume with 375 cc and 400 cc. There is really no way to accurately predict what size you would like without
an examination. During your examination and consultation, you should try on
some sample sizes and see what you are comfortable with. This is an accurate
approximation of what you would get. If in doubt, go up one size from the one
you like. Then the PS can help explain with the size and current condition of
your breasts the effects of those sized implants will have on you.

If you have accomplished this step, then trust your plastic surgeons advice as
to what would be the best size for you. They have the experience. If you are
uncomfortable, go on another consultation.As for 25 cc, you are overthinking this. There is no difference in size by such a small number. If you want a change in size you will need at least 75cc.

The best implant for you should be based on your chest and breast dimensions and how big you wish to be.  This is best determined in consultation with your surgeon.  You should consult with an American Board of Plastic Surgery Certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and concerns.

Thank you for your question. Given your size and existing chest size of 32A, I think 400 cc is probably at the upper limit of what can be placed in the first augmentation. You will need a personal consultation to get the specific recommendation, but high profile implants are probably reasonable. Good luck.
