Hi all, I recently went to consult with Dr. Cat Begovic for a labiaplasty and she said it would take 4.5hrs. My labia are about 4cm long on both sides, which is I guess pretty long, but I didn't expect it o take so long. I know she has her own technique that she developed for a less painful recovery with special sutures, but I expected it would take 1-1.5hrs the same as everyone else I've heard talk on different forums. Does this sound accurate to you? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hello, the main function of the labia minora in our body is to protect our urine output and to ensure that the urine flow goes straight. Therefore, in labiaplasty procedures that are reduced too much, cystitis problems and problems with urine flowing towards the legs may occur.
There are 2 major techniques for the labiaplasty procedure. The labia can absolutely be shortened using the wedge technique to give a natural appearance to the labia. Please do your research and find a surgeon who has done this procedure and one you feel comfortable with. Good luck!
Genital warts can be on the labia, outside the labia, or inside the vagina. Without seeing all of those areas, I can't tell you anything about warts and you. If you have warts, they tend to spread and you should see your gynecologist promptly to make sure that this doesn't happen.
