You should discontinue the Curacne (Accutane) immediately and contact the prescribing physician and the obstetrician. Curacne can cause severe, life-threatening birth defects if taken during pregnancy.  Major birth defects can include various brain malformations, cardiovascular abnormalities, intellectual disabilities, thymus gland abnormalities, ear abnormalities, parathyroid hormone deficiencies, and facial abnormalities. Taking Carance can also significantly increase your risk of miscarriage, premature delivery, and infant death. You should also contact the IPLEDGE pregnancy registry.
