I was told that I need a lift. Is it possible for me to get 495cc high profile implants without a lift?

Dear Exhuberant, High profile is just a different shape of the implant. IMO a bigger, higher profile is not a replacement for needing a breast lift. Your nipples will just hang off the lower portion of the implant. I advise looking carefully before going with such a large implant. They can very easily make a petite woman look thick and they come with more risk for complications and future surgeries. See a Board Certified plastic surgeon that can show you some sizing devices to give you an idea of what that implant may look like on you. It still will not lift your nipples significantly.

Implants provide volume but little lift. If your breasts are truly sagging then implants alone will not correct this.

Hello, thank you for your question. It would be difficult to advise based on numbers and size alone. I would look at before and after photos and have another discussion with your plastic surgeon. There is an option of going above the muscle but you may not be happy with those results over time.

A breast lift is recommended for a woman if the nipples are located at or below the breast fold. If you don’t feel comfortable with your surgeon’s opinion, you can find another surgeon for a second opinion.

Breast augmentation and breast lift are two different procedures which are occasionaly performed together. However, if you do not want to do both, have breast augmentation with implants performed first, wait 6-12 months for result to settle and proceed with breast lift if you are not satisfied with augmentation. determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.

You did not post photos, so I cannot say if you do need a lift. With no lift, you will just have larger and still sagging breasts with implants. I do not recommend 495 cc's for someone of your frame and height. That size is too large. During your consultation, you will be examined and measured, and can try on the range of sizes that best fits your frame and tissue.

The photo that you have posted is really of no help. If you want more accurate opinions on this forum, you will have to post more descriptive photos with no clothing. A frontal, 45 degree angle and full lateral view of each side would be recommended. If you don't want to post photos, seek consultation with an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon for a second opinion on whether to lift, or not to lift. Good luck!
