If I let my juvederm lip filler completely dissolve will my lips look normal after?

Thank you for sharing your question.  Because the lips are largely comprised of muscle once the JVD has fully dissolved they will return to their previous shape and size without sagging.  This includes the ridge that you feel.  Hope this helps.

After lip augmentation with Juvederm, once the product has been fully metabolized, your lips will return to its initial appearance, this will take some time as the lips consist of large amount of muscle. If you are unhappy with your results, the filler can be dissolved by injecting Hyaluronidase, and this will leave no sagging behind. Hi Claire, since you did not include a picture it is more difficult for me to assess. I would strongly recommend that you go back to your board certificated dermatologist about your lips.  You can allow them to inject Hyelenex which dissolves Juvederm into the lips to remove some of the product.  You may not want to remove all of the product, and letting this dissolve could take up to a year. Thank you for your question.  After lip augmentation with Juvederm, once the product has been fully metabolized, your lips will return to their pretreatment appearance.  Any unwanted fullness can be easily removed sooner by injecting Vitrase.  Please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation to fully discuss your concerns in order to determine the best treatment plan.  Hope this helps and best wishes! 

Your lips will gradually return to their pre-injection appearance as the product is metabolized by your body.  You should not expect to see any sagging from this.  If you want the process sped up you can choose to have hyaluronidase injected which will dissolve the Juvederm.

Your lips will not be saggy and stretched and will return to their pre-injection size and shape once the filler has completely dissolved. If you are unhappy with the filler, it can be dissolved with injections of hyaluronidase (an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid). Juvederm typically lasts in the lips around 4-6 months, but it varies depending on the person. As long as you are not unhappy with how they currently look, I'd advise you to be patient and assure you that they will return to normal - you will not need to get lip filler forever, unless of course you want to.

Thanks for your question. After your filler dissolves your lips will not be saggy and you will not be required to have lip filler for life. If you are unhappy with the way they appear at this point an enzyme called hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve the filler now and this should also take care of the ridge you notice. Lip filler can be a nuanced injection and it is best done by a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. I hope this is helpful.
