Hello,Having an injectable gel filler in the tear trough area is one of our most common procedures for both men and women alike. Besides a natural and appreciable improvement, the results typically last 9 to 12 months in this area. It is our belief that a smooth gel filler (hyaluronic acid) is the safest product in this delicate area. The appropriate technique is to place the product beneath the eye muscle regardless of which gel filler is chosen. In our practice, we find Restylane to be more predictable than Juvederm in this particular area of the face. This procedure produces a rewarding outcome, and the return on the financial investment is realized in the duration of the treatment. Please learn more about this treatment option by using the below link:
Juvederm and other HA fillers last typically 9-12 months, some a little more and some a little less. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question. On average , Juvederm lasts 9 months but under the eyes it can last up to 15-18 months. Maybe you just misunderstood . 15 months -yes but not 15 years.
Thank you for your question. Juvederm typically lasts 9-12 months. However, it is not a good choice underneath the eyes as it is hydrophilic (attracts water) and caused edema. The best fillers for the tear trough area is Restylane. I recommend having a consultation with an expert to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!
Juvederm in the infraorbital hollows beneath the eyes is placed beneath the muscle where blood flow is low and it therefore washes out slowly. Our patients' treatments last about a year or more on average.
Although every patient reacts to filler differently, in general, Juvederm lasts anywhere from 9-12 years. Definitely not 15 years! I would suggest that you see someone else about having your filler like a board certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck --
Thank you for your question. While Juvederm tends to last longer in the tear trough (under eye area) than other areas, based on my experience this might be 1-2 years, not 15 years like your dermatologist told you. If considering filler for the tear trough area, I would actually recommend not getting Juvederm done. It is a filler that tends to collect water and look unnatural and puffy in the under eye area. I prefer Restylane or Belotero for this area. Please schedule a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon if considering under eye filler.I hope this answer is helpful! Best of luck.
I am not sure what your physician was referring to, but Juvederm typically lasts anywhere from 6-12 months. Tear trough filler tends to last longer than in other areas so you may get on the high side of this range, but would not get more than a year much less 15. There is no kind of filler (hyaluronic acid or other) on the market that can come close to this longevity.
Juvederm typically lasts for 9-12 months. The product is broken down gradually over that time by the body. You may want to ask for clarification if the physician was specifically referring to Juvederm.
Thank you for your question. Generally speaking, Juvederm lasts approximately 6-12 months, depending on the area where it is injected. I do find that most hyaluronic acid fillers last a little longer when injected under the eyes, but no product will last anywhere near 15 years. I also would strongly advise against having Juvederm injected under your eyes. Juvederm has a tendency to absorb a lot of water with time. As the product absorbs water and expands, it can create a visible ridge under the eyes, and can actually block lymphatic drainage under the eyes, resulting in delayed swelling. Restylane, Volbella, and Voluma are better choices in this area. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for you. Best of luck!
Good question. Fillers do not make you worse off after you stop them. You will simply go back to the way you were had you never used them. The same concept applies to all the areas treated with fillers. Also the same goes for Botox and similar products. Depending on the type you filler use...
Thank you for sharing your concerns about your recent experience. You are correct in saying that you have a natural asymmetry of the upper lips. While dermal filler is the best way to correct this asymmetry, it appears that your left upper lip is overfilled compared to the other areas of your ...
Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon to experience swelling after lip fillers, however this should resolve in the next 2 weeks. I always advise my patients to ice the treated area to help resolve swelling. You can also gently massage the swollen area to help smooth it out. Please ...
