I had my ectropion and retraction reconstruction surgery 6 years ago, the surgery consist of midfacelift, hard palate graft, canthoplasty and temporal lift. I am pleased with the result and my eyes look normal again. As time goes by, I see my platysma muscle a little bit hanging under my chin, also there is some irregularities on my cheek due to sagging, and my face more long than before. I am considering to do face and neck lift but I am worry it will ruin my eyes.
Answer: Facelift and appearance of the eyes Thank you for your enquiry. You are raising a very interesting point. In general, the facelift intervention adds support to the lower eyelids, in particular if it is carried out with a vertical vector. In your situation, due to the previous temporal lift procedure it is quite likely that the intervention of choice would be to place the facelift scars in the temple areas in front of the hairline. This amplifies the support to the lower eyelids due to the more vertical vector of lift. It would also make the neck contouring of the jawline easier. The neck contour may benefit from management of the platysma muscles, skin laxity as well as the volume deep to the platysma muscles (deep plane neck contouring).

Answer: Bring your operative report! A well-trained and experienced surgeon should be able to address your jowls and neck without affecting the surgery around your eyes. You will likely have some swelling post-operatively that may include your eyes, but this should be temporary. Your best option is to go back to the same who already performed a successful surgery for you. If he or she is not available then make sure you bring your operative report with you so that your new surgeon can review whats already been done and plan accordingly.
