Uneven chin after facelift. Any advice? (Photo)

The implant may be a bit uneven in its placement. A revision to reposition the implant may be recommended.

Thankyou for your query. Although you have some asymmetry of the smile , your chin shows slight asymmetry even at rest. If it is not the implant, which can be confirmed by your surgeon, it can be because of soft tissue asymmetry, swelling or scarring. Some of this may improve with time but the best option at this time may be the use of an injectable filler to achieve symmetry. Please discuss your concerns with your surgeon who should be able to help you. All the best!

This is why I don’t like chin implants. A high degree of dissatisfaction with little benefit. You could have a revision or just remove it altogether

The tension after facelift evens out so even if one side is pulled tighter initially that should resolve over time. However a malposotion of chin implant can definitely cause asymmetry. An in person exam would be important to suggest solutions. Often fat grafting can improve asymmetry. Although you can feel the chin implant move , it is likely contributing to the asymmetry.

Based on your photos, it seems that you would need a chin revision. Make sure to voice your concerns to your primary surgeon.

To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of plastic surgery procedure we always need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures, ask your surgeon to forward the ones they took. Consider reposting it with proper before and after pictures. It does look like your chin implant may not have been placed correctly, but without knowing what you look like before we can’t really make an assessment. It may also have been better to use a chin implant that gives the volumes more laterally, whether there seems to be a pre-Jowl hollow
