Hello, i had "nosejob" 3 weeks ago, but i want to clean inside my nose. My Dr told me to use the nasal spray only in 2 weeks and not more than 2 weeks. But i need to clean inside my nose, so i would like to ask if it is okay to wash/clean inside my nose with water and soap???
Answer: Cleaning the nose after rhinoplasty The best course of action would be to contact your surgeon. We generally recommend using saline irrigation in the form of a nasal mist spray, while gently using Q-tips with peroxide. Usually by 2 weeks you are able to blow your nose as well.

Answer: Cleaning the nostrils after rhinoplasty surgery In general, cleaning the inside of the nose with soap would not be advised. In fact, this may even cause irritation and inflammation of the mucosa (lining of the inside of the nose). After rhinoplasty, most surgeons recommend gently cleaning just inside the nostril with a Q-tip and 1/2 strength peroxide. Some surgeons also recommend nasal saline sprays and saline sinus irrigations. All surgeons recommend strictly following the postop instructions and wound care. If this issue isn't specifically addressed in the written postop instruction sheet you should call your surgeon's office for specific advice on how to clean the nose at this stage. I hope you find this helpful. Good luck, Dr. Harmych

Answer: Post Rhinoplasty Care It is best to use pre boiled (cooled to 37 degrees) water mixed with salt to wash your nose. You can use already made Saline sprays or high volume washes or make you own (half a tea spoon of salt, pinch of sugar and a very small pinch of bicarbonate soda mixed with 250ml of water). Do not use soap as it will be painful. Best to ask your surgeon about their advise. Also using a cotton wool tip and 3% hydrogen peroxide around the nostrils will help clear the crust. Hope this is helpful.
