Is it okay to take minocycline after being injected with dermal fillers?

I got 2 syringes of voluma injected to my chin 2 months ago, and today I got a prescription from my determalogist to take minocycline for my acne. Can it make the filler dissolve quicker, or cause any other issues?

Thank you for your question. While minocycline for your acne is safe after Voluma, your best bet is to review the list of approved and disapproved medications that your surgical team can provide. Please discuss with your board certified facial plastic surgeon.

Thank you for your question someone1212. Voluma is a filler used to enhance the appearance of the face. There are no studies demonstrating the minocycline will affect the results of fillers. Many patients maintained on oral antibiotics for acne choose to have fillers.  From that experience , we know there should not be any adverse influence on the results of your chin augmentation.  But always discuss the effects of a new medication with the prescribing physician.
