Hello all! I am looking into the possibility of a rhinoplasty and was wondering if the "after" result is possible on my nose with a surgeon in California (preferably near Bay Area or The Valley) I am the before image and the secondary image edited in a similar fashion to what I am looking for post-op. I see many surgical procedures ending with changes in the radix and dorsum, but still leaving a large overprotection that doesn't look so symmetrical in the side profile (in my opinion).

Answer: Chin implant In the after photo, the nose is shortened and the anterior projection achieves a better balance. An alternative to consider is a chin implant. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Answers you seek 1 I can't say for sure without seeing the front angle, but I guess that you don't need a rhinoplasty at all. By don't need, I mean "will not benefit significantly enough from it to justify the risks/costs/downtime etc" 2 I'm not sure what you think symmetry means, but it doesn't apply to the side profile...maybe you mean proportional? 3 The photoshop you've done...may look good to you from side on, I'm imagining what that "after" nose will look like from front and side and I'm thinking not good, because it's now underprojected compared to length and width. The nose is a 3D object, and your surgeon needs to make it look as good as possible from all angles, not just side on. 4 Anything is possible, it's just not highly probable. If you go into surgery with highly specific expectations, you are likely to be disappointed. Best wishes, MB.
