Severe dry eye syndrome after getting Juvederm in tear trough, under eye area, and upper cheeks, a month ago. Will it ever go?

Ever since then an opthamologist has said I had a dry patch on one cornea.Its caused by fillers as I never had this before.The injector is dismissive& refuses that the filler has done this.l think the filler may have changed my lowerlid position& changed how I blink, thus dry eyes.OR something else has been affected/compressed.I worry that dryeyetreatments won't work for me as the underlyingissue is the filler.I'm scared to get hyalase.ive read bad reviews. Shall I wait for filler to dissolve?

Poorly placed filler can drag the lid down and impair corneal surface wetting. If this is the case you will need to have this dissolved. You are quite about being wary of Hyaluronidase. I have seen many complications of this being done with too high concentrations which can irreparably damage the body's natural connective tissues. Make sure that you see a very experienced injector to dissolve this for you safely. Best of luck.

It would be very unusual for a filler to cause a dry eye.  We often put filler in when people have a low lid to help move it up, which helps the dry eye.  If you really believe that the filler is responsible, you should have it removed.  Not sure what you have read about hyaluronidase that is negative as we use it all the time without problems.

Thank you for your question. If the filler is poorly placed in the tear trough area it can drag the lid down and can affect the corneal surface. This can be corrected by dissolving the filler with hyaluronidase. It can take multiple treatments of hyaluronidase to fully dissolve the filler. If your injector is refusing to properly treat you please find another expert injector in your area Best of Luck!

Indeed the lower eyelid position if anything is raised when the lower lids are filled. If somehow the lower eyelid were lowered then perhaps the blink action to wet the cornea could be compromised, but this would be an unusual complication.  Hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler could be tried. There is no reason to be concerned about the effect of the hyaluronidase.
