My journey with Dr.Schiller started in June 2022 with my consultation. He spent almost a full hour with me answering any and all questions and trying to come up with the best option. He was honest and confident and I found that to be wonderful. He immediately told me I was not a candidate for the surgery I was hoping, which was the most expensive, so I knew he really cared and wasn’t trying to get the most money from me. I had a lower skin pinch procedure done in the hospital in July 2022. I had a tremendous amount of swelling and bruising and didn’t feel completely healed until almost 4 months. During this time Dr.Schiller saw me in the office monthly to monitor the mild ectropion I developed from scar tissue while reassuring me he would fix anything I was concerned with. After months of monitoring I decided to go ahead and do a canthopexy in the office last month. During this time the staff and the doctor were wonderful. As soon as the procedure was over I was thrilled. I couldn’t be more happy with the results. Everything is perfect just as Dr.Schiller and his staff assured me it would be! He has hands of gold! I'm very happy with the surgery Dr. Schiller did in October. He removed the bags under my eyes and did upper and lower laser on both eyes. He also did cheer lift. The recovery time takes 2-3 months. I hated those bags under my eyes. I feel so much better in my appearance and look younger. I would recommend this surgery to anyone.
Re-occurring cyst over right brow and prior procedure to remove a cyst added to naturally occurring excess skin causing an eye lid droop. Also had some forehead lines/creases. Eyes always heavy . Vision was impaired. Also looked tired as excess lid skin hung on/over lid. I constantly had to force my eyes wide open to let more in an “see”... this also impacted my forehead aging it prematurely. Lastly I had a vertical crease in mid brow that seems to be familial and I was unhappy with it growing more pronounced with age.
I needed to do it for myself. Started to loose self confidence. Saw no cons all pros. Knew Dr Schiella was the right doctor and was recommended by another highly recommended doctor. I was confident I was with the right team every question I had was answered with validation. The procedure itself was with no pain and saw already on first day what magic he performed on me. I left with a smile on my face. Thank you Dr Schiella.
Due to a childhood condition, I've had a droopy left eyelid (ptosis) my whole life. It always bothered me a little but most people didn't notice it. Well apparently long-term contact lens wear can make eyelids droop more and it got to the point where I can feel it droop. I had more and more people ask me about it and needless to say, my self-esteem tanked. I decided to finally go for the procedure. I researched oculoplastic surgeons who have a lot of experience with ptosis surgeries and Dr. Schiller was among the top few surgeons who popped up on search engines. Dr. Schiller appeared to be a master of blepharoplasty but still had long-time experience with ptosis repair. I went in for a consult, where they explained the procedure to me and examined my eye/eyelid thoroughly. I came back 2 months later for the surgery. The procedure itself only lasted about 8-10 minutes. Dr. Schiller and his team did their best to make it as relaxing as possible. He played some light music and reassured me that I will likely see good results. He asked about me (ex. what I do for a living, my family, etc) to distract me. That was very much appreciated! It has been 3 months since the procedure and I'm happy to say that it has WORKED. Oddly enough, my eyes look completely symmetrical when I wear contact lenses but there is a slight, barely noticeable difference between the 2. I'm also trying to stick with glasses now! I am happy I went ahead with Dr. Schiller and with getting this procedure. He has wonderful bedside manner, is extremely knowledgeable, and is the oculoplastic surgeon I'd recommend to anyone else who's looking to get some work done.
I was a little nervous about having this procedure but Ashley reassured me that Dr. Schiller was an excellent doctor and he specializes/ excels in these procedures. I had the surgery at JFK medical center and was very happy with the employees and facility. Dr Schiller's staff had me all prepared for the surgery and answered all my questions prior to the procedure so I knew what was expected after the surgery. After surgery, Ashley was always available via phone to help me with my questions, concerns, and what i needed. All my problems/needs were handled in a very professional and timely matter.
Dr Jeffrey Shiller and his staff are five stars all the way. I went to him with a challenging situation -- Thyroid Eye disease. My eyes protruded from the socket by 10mm. The disease completely changed my appearance! After much research, I found Dr. Shiller and consulted with him. I knew instantly he was the right Oculoplastic Surgeon to manage my case. He performed Orbital Decompression on both of my eyes to protect my vision, improve comfort and appearance by letting the eyes go back in the orbit. Dr. Shiller provided state of the art minimal incision with minimal bruising. He answered all of my questions, and gave me the full support and compassion I needed thru out my journey. I would call his cell phone and he would always take my call and answer my many questions. If you are going thru a challenging time that requires an Oculoplastic Surgeon, Dr Shiller is the Doctor you should consider. To add, the follow-up care was highly professional and thorough. Best of all, I was able to resume my normal activities and get my life back. Thank you so much Dr Shiller for the opportunity to live my life again and enjoy each day.
I was so nervous to get restalyne injections for the first time but am so happy I followed through. I have since gone back 3 times. Dr, Schiller was very precise, particular and conservative (advising me against some areas I thought I needed more). This proved that he aims for the best outcome of the particular patient he is working on and not for the financial outcome. All 3 times I've had services I have been 100 % happy! Highly recommend!
Extremely happy with the outcome of my upper and lower bleph with mid face lift and couldn't imagine it turning out any better. Great doctor and good recovery. Swelling from the mid face lift took a lot longer than I anticipated, but after 3 months things settled down to normal and eye bags are 100% gone. Amazing. Updated on 11 Jul 2015:
FANTASTIC Result From Lower Blepharoplasty And Mid Face Lift! I am beyond thrilled with every aspect of my surgical experience with Dr. Jeffrey Schiller and the ELTRA Surgical Center! I had a lower blepharoplasty with mid face lift at the beginning of July. I did not have lower eye bags, but obvious tear troughs were making me look tired and aging. By the grace of God, I found Dr. Schiller on the Internet and made an appointment to meet him and learn about his signature surgery. Dr. Schiller could not have been nicer, more helpful, nor more low-key. He answered all my questions and put me in touch with Eva, his Practice Manager. She assisted me with every aspect of the pre-op procedures and offered to follow-up with my doctor's office when I was on vacation and paperwork had not been faxed over. Dr. Schiller operates at ELTRA Surgical Center in West Orange. I was very nervous, but Mary Anne, the Manager, immediately put me at ease with her friendly and caring manner. To a person, everyone at ELTRA was a blessing, professional and caring to the max. Dr. Wong , the anesthesiologist, was great, and Dr. Schiller and the surgical team gave me a phenomenal result and an amazingly pain free experience. I kept using the phrase,"It was a piece of cake," to describe my surgery. I followed the post-op instructions to a tee, and while I had very obvious swelling and bruising, I can say with all honesty, that I did not have even a moment of discomfort. Eva checked in with me the next day to make sure that all was well, and it was! Although I could easily do errands wearing my sun glasses after the first week, I would not have felt comfortable without them for at least two weeks. By the third week, I needed just a bit of camouflage makeup to cover up some slight redness and traces of bruising, which no one else would probably even notice. Dr. Schiller is a surgical genius. The staff at ELTRA speak highly of him and assured me that he is meticulous about the quality of his work and always takes the time to insure a high-quality result. Dr. Schiller certainly did that for me, exceeding my expectations with a totally natural, youthful look that has taken years off my face. It is an added bonus that Dr. Schiller is such a nice person. I am thrilled!
I doubt that the tape for one year will cause a problem. I would ask you to wait 6 months before doing double eyelid surgery. I did operate on someone who had worn tape for over ten years and there was very abnormal anatomy that made the surgery quite difficult. So overuse of tape can cause problems.
It does look like you have some malar folds or bags. I do not agree that you need a transconjunctival blepharoplasty from these photos. Pictures taken from directly in front of you about 3 ft away in room lightwould let us see what is wrong with more clarity.Malar folds, bags, and festoons can be difficult to treat. Fillers generally do not help.. A midface lift can often solve that problem. There are also aggressive laser techniques that require several treatments. Injections of Doxycyline can also sometimes help.
An upper blepharoplasty will sculpt the fullness and improve the crease and flatten the space above your eyelashes. Imbrication of the orbicularis sometimes called a "brassiere" suture will lift the sub-brow fat out of your eyelids without a browlift. Upper blepharoplasty is generally done with local anesthesia or local and sedation. General anesthesia is not necessary.
From your pictures I see the wrinkling when you smile, and a deep hollow at the lid-cheek junction. With these issues you will probably find that every surgeon has a different procedure to offer you. You should make sure that the doctor has before-and-after photos showing eyelids like yours that the doctor repaired successfully. Transconjunctival surgery is particularly useful if the main problem is excess fat coming forward in the eyelid. I don't think it will be the best approach for you. In my practice that is treated with a midface lift which fills in the hollow, and allows the removal of the wrinkled skin. A less invasive procedure may help but would need to be repeated, and that may include Restylane filler to the hollow and Botox to the wrinkled lower eyelid. Those treatments would need to be repeated over time.
From the photos you look like a normal healing process for three weeks. Please be patient. That appears to be on track.
