I had lipo of my lower back in conjunction with a 360 lift. My surgeon warned me my lower back would be swollen for months. I'd like to hear the consensus as to what the average amount of time is for this area to resolve completely, and for me to see my final results? Two months later I have seen no improvement.
Answer: Body lift and lipo Thanks for the question- swelling and downtime are proportional to the amount of surgery you had. It sounds like you had a lot of liposuction and a full body lift. I would say the tissues will be engorged for up to a year given the surgery. That being said I am sure you will have amazing results!

Answer: Swelling after liposuction Hi- thank you for your question. It can take up to three months to see the final result of liposuction. If done in conjunction with another procedure, like the body lift you describe, it could take even longer as healing from that procedure can slow down the overall process (more for your body to overcome). Done in isolation, early results from liposuction are often visible in the first few weeks. The attached video shows a patient describing his liposuction recovery.

Answer: Swelling after liposuction Liposuction is traumatic to the tissue and there's always a fair amount of swelling. I tell my patients that the majority of the swelling will be gone by 3 months, around 80%, but it may be up to 6 months for all the swelling to subside. Massage along the way can be helpful. When there's persistent swelling, sometimes compression can help too. Be sure to consult with your doctor for advice. Best of luck.

Answer: Swelling after Liposuction It is normal to have swelling after surgery. Most patients will see a significant improvement when they remove their garment for the first time (listen to your surgeon about when and how to do this....). You may notice a bit more swelling come up over the next few days which will then subside. Gradually over 6 weeks or so, the majority of swelling should resolve, but there will be some residual swelling for up to 3-6 months. Happy recoveries!
