What size to be 32C and what size to be 32D?

I recommend visiting a board certified plastic surgeon (or two) and trying on sizer implants to see what they give you.  It's the most reliable way to predict your outcome

Hello! Thank you for your question. In general, implant size does not correlate with bra cup size. The cup size itself will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer as well as who is doing the actual measurements. Thus, cup size is never a reliable indicator for your breast size. I typically encourage my patients not to communicate her desires in cup size but more on the actual look and appearance. Good communication between you and your surgeon of your expectations is warranted - choosing your surgeon wisely is the first step. Discussion of your wishes and having an honest and open dialog of your procedure is mandatory (e.g, implant type, incision, placement, lift, etc). I have found that photographs brought by the patient is helpful to get a visualization of the appearance you wish for in terms of size, shape, fullness, etc. In addition, your surgeon's pre and postoperative photographs should demonstrate a realistic goal for you. Once this has been accomplished, allow your surgeon to utilize his/her best medical judgment during the procedure to finesse the best possible result for you after preoperative biodimensional planning and fitting the right implant for your breast width. Dear Lauren,        Front and side view pictures would have been very helpful. In my over 27 years of plastic surgery practice, I have noticed that many women over estimate their breasts size, mainly because 'Victoria secrets' makes the bra sizw smaller, so women feel better about their breasts size. They are always surprised when I show them their real measurements. Since you mentioned that you wear 'Victoria secrets' 32 B cup, I would assume that your real size is 32 small A cup. That means , that to reach 32 C cup you will need implants with volume of 300 cc and for 32 D cup you will need 425 cc implants. The most attractive, faminine , natural looking and most popular  size , in my experience,  is full C cup and for that you will need 375 cc implants.   I would recommend smooth, round moderate profile saline implants that you can have them inserted through small incision under the areola. Always, consult with board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive. Check also the 'realself' reviews for positive patients experience which provide important information on the surgeons.

Thank you for your question. It is much better to accurately discuss implant volume and projection with an in office exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements/characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during the sizing process to guide you to a safe result for your chest wall and just as important, one that meets your end desires.The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. In addition, review of photos and use of rice bags can be very helpful to the patient and surgeon in achieving a safe and happy result. Thanks for your question.  Without examining you, it is difficult to give you an exact size recommendation.  Usually 100-150cc will increase one cup size.  Provided that you are truly 32B with 12cm BD, mod+ mid-200s will give you 32C and high profile mid-300s will give you 32 D.  If you want to be natural, you would like mod+ profile.  I recommend my patients not to worry too much about cup sizes.  You have to like the "look" of the desired size.  As you know, depending on brand and styles of bra, the cup size varies.  Please bring a photo of your desired look to your plastic surgeon.  In addition, try the implant sizers during your visit.  Best wishes!  - Dr. Kim

Since there are no uniform standards by which to define cup size, there are many answers to your question depending upon where you go to get fitted.  Furthermore, this is not an exact science.Best in my opinion would be to try on implants, see what looks good, surgeon can use that info to decide on the right implants for you. Often this will be up to 10% larger than the sizer that looked best. Your own breast anatomy may define some limits in terms of size if you wish to look natural. All the best. 

Dear LaurenTexas000:I think I answered this question in one of your other posts.  A physical exam is really required to make any meaningful recommendations.  That said, if indeed you are petite and have a narrower base width, I would likely suggest you consider a high profile implant.     As mentioned earlier, I consider factors when selecting implants for my patients: dimensional planning (using chest wall measurements to guide you with your implant selection and a gel implant sizing system (where you try on different sizers to achieve the look you are hoping for).   Please visit with a board certified plastic surgeon to learn more about your options.  Dr. BasuHouston, TX

Since you specified "Victoria secret size," I know that you realize that manufacturers size bras differently. In most cases each 150 to 200 cc volume of an implant translates to one cup size. This estimation is good for most, but does not hold true for real small or real large sizes. If you can have a consult that utilizes 3D imaging you can see for yourself. Our office uses a Vectra 3D system that allows a patient to see what an implant will looks like on their actual image. This really eliminates the anxiety of sizing and the fear of waking up from surgery with a different look than what you desired. Try to have a consult with a surgeon who uses the Vectra. I find it predictable and very helpful.
