I'm nearly 6 weeks post op and I still feel my breasts are too big. I started off as a b cup and had 270cc over the muscle. However they are bigger then discussed, I said I would like 250cc and he said they didn't look right. Do you think I could have them a second time as they are bigger then anticipated and have 225cc under the muscle? Also would I have to pay. Thanks in advanced

Answer: Breast implants too big The reason for waiting, as discussed by the other surgeons in this forum, is because any residual swelling will slightly decrease the size of your breast and some settling will occur and allow the implant to descend slightly to centralize behind the nipple. That being said, if you want to decrease your breast size when the time comes and want to be smaller I would decrease your implant volume to at least 225 cc. However, the diameter of a 225 cc implant will barely fit under your muscle superiorly and that small of an implant will give you very little fill of the superior (top) pole of your breast. Just some things to consider if you go to a smaller implant.

Answer: Revision surgery The difference in sizes you mentioned are not too significant. You discussed a 250 and got 20 more cc, that is about a table spoon and a tea spoon of extra volume. Your breasts will get smaller as the swelling settles but if you still want to go smaller, your surgeon will probably ask you to wait 6 months or more. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon and have some patience before having more surgery. Each time you have a revision, your risks of complications increase. Most surgeons will charge for a size replacement and a new set of implants, OR Fee and anesthesia costs.
