Got Juvederm filler in lips. What are these white spots on my upper lip? (photo)

It looks like Fordyce spots but it could also be swelling, blister or product. Your injector needs to examine you and make the diagnosis. Warmest regards, Dr. Aldo :)

Thank you for your question. The cause of the white spots can be small collections of filler, salivary glands that have pushed to the surface or Fordyce spots. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do. I do not see the blister in any of the photos you provided. However, I do suggest having it evaluated by your treating physician. Best of Luck!

Hi there, the white spots are probably Fordyce spots, which are small glands in the lips that are made more prominent from the filler. My opinion is that you should go back to your doctor that injected you for further evaluation.     Good luck, Dr. Downie  

The diffuse white bumps look like Fordyce spots and have always been present, but maybe more visible due to swelling. The one large white bump looks more like supperficiall placed filler.  Please follow up with your treating physician if you continue to have concerns for an in person exam.

The white spots are one of a few things. They are either small collections of filler, minor salivary glands that have been pushed to the surface, or Fordyce spots. In any of the 3 cases, it is not of any concern and there is nothing to do. The blister is not shown but needs evaluation. It could be a herpetic lesion or could be filler collected.

First I would show this to the person who performed the injection be it doctor, nurse or PA. It looks to me that if this is a photo 2 weeks after your injection most of the syringe if not all was placed into the upper lip.

The pictures seem to look like injection points with either a puncture healing or slight amounts of the juvederm just under the mucosa. I have seen lesions like this appear then resolve in a few weeks. There should not be any fever or pain in the lip if so then speak to your injector immediately.

As far as the gum I think that is not related to your lip injection.
