Hi All, I had lipo in my under armpit area which I believe is called the auxiliary. My armpit area looks the same now that I'm 6 weeks post op as I did pre op. I was expecting a bigger change than what i am experiencing. Are these the results I should expect or is there hope that if a few more weeks pass they'll be smaller?
Answer: 6 weeks post op Hello and thank you for your question. Pre-operative and post operative photos would definitely have helped to better answer your question. Many times, people actually forget what they used to look like and this not only happens frequently but happens quickly. At 6 weeks you should start to see a difference but it can take about 6 months to even up to a year for all the swelling to resolve. Now, that being said, if you have loose skin in that area then this will likely not improve with time. Frequently I have found the need to not only perform lipo in this area but also the need to remove extra skin as well. I hope this helps and hope you are being treated by a board certified plastic surgeon!Ankur Mehta MD

Answer: Armpit Liposuction results and aftercare--compression, lymphatic massage, hyperbaric oxygen, vanquish You most likely still have some swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Liposuction for fatty tissue in the armpits As for all liposuction, you can not really judge the results at 6 weeks. It can take up to 4 or 6 months to see the results. At 6 weeks you may still have swelling and bruising. However, you should start to see improvement soon. I recommend you discuss it with your surgeon and see what he/she says. On another note, liposuction of the axillary area can be tricky. The fatty tissue there can be harder to remove evenly. Once you are healed, if there is still excess fatty tissue there, you could look into Kybella injections. Kybella works well in this area.

Answer: Axilla lipoo- disappointed at 6 weeks- What to expect Hi ChasingAt 6 weeks, you still have considerable swelling (my guess, about 80% of swelling is gone, maybe 90%). You can expect more resolution of swelling over the next year. So although it is yet early to conclude anything, it may well be that not enough fat was removed.I recommend two things. First, take a look at your preop pics, as we quickly forget how e looked. Second, visit with your ps to see if there is a massage or other technique he would recommend to reduce the remaining swelling.I linked with some lipo to see results, though not in the AxillaAll the best.Sek
